Soweto is an urban settlement or 'township' in South Africa, southwest of Johannesburg; with a population of approximately 1.3 million. Soweto became the largest Black city in South Africa, but until 1976 its population could have status only as temporary residents, serving as a workforce for Johannesburg. Join us as we explore Soccer City, Kliptown (one of Soweto’s oldest districts), the Hector Pieterson Museum, Vilikazi Street (where both Mandela and Tutu once lived), finishing off with a traditional kota lunch Sites visited: * Soccer City Stadium * Hector Pieterson Museum * Vilakazi Street * Mandela House and Desmond Tutu’s House * Lunch at one of the local restaurants
