I had an amazing experience with a very knowledgeable tour guide, I never knew how much history was behind the city of Dar Es Salaam until the tour. He took me to the museum of culture where there were cool artifacts dating back many years ago, also to village museum to show the history of ancient architectural structures the communities used. He also took me to the top level of a hotel so I could view the entire city!! I had a blast with my tour guide Ben, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour for any else interested in learning about the great history of Dar Es Salaam

This tour was absolutely incredible and a must-do if you are in Dar! Ben was an incredible tour guide and was deeply knowledgeable about the history of the city and region. I learned so much about the various locations we went to as well as the country and people of Tanzania generally.

A couple of things to note - everyone in the markets negotiates and you'll have more flexibility and success if you bring TZS instead of using a credit card. Traffic really will make a difference in your itinerary - so if there are locations on the tour you feel are must-see, let your guide know so you can be sure to get to them, and roll with it if you can't! My tour was about 8 hours from pickup to dropoff and we got to 7 of the 9 locations listed.

This was a fantastic tour. We visited diverse locations and I learned a lot about the history, architecture, and rich culture of Dar and country as a whole. Bernard is wonderful - enthusiastic, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Pacing of the tour was spot-on; the scope and content were appropriate for all ranges of visitors. Bernard was very proactive in communicating beforehand, and was flexible and prompt. I had a great time and would highly recommend this to other visitors!

We arranged for this tour in advance of arriving. Bernard was very helpful and responsive to our inquiries to ensure we had a good experience. Directions to meeting our tour guide were perfect. Our extended family group of twelve were immediately impressed with Bernard pleasant demeanor and bi-lingual ability. The highlights of this tour included the many details of the various sites in Old Dar es salaam. He was able recount to our group that are not written or otherwise not commonly known. Was directed to Bernard by my friend whom had previously done a Dar es Salaam tour one day and a food tour the next. This was our turn and we (4) had a private tour of Dar Es Salaam and the hidden neighboring areas. Our Guide got us up to the Sites early before the cruise ship crowds and also in and around the museum to avoid the lines. Our guide was very historically knowledged and made the tour an experience. We had a very interesting and informative Tour of Dar es Salaam with Bernard. Although we were rather tired from our long flight and 10 time zones difference; Bernard very patiently explained it all! I especially liked the National Museum, also the old town and of course tasting all the delicacies at the market halls! So thank you for the friendly and interesting experience, we like Dar es Salaam Great city with lots of things to see, including Churches, vendors cafes.. Lots to buy at fairly reasonable prices.
