Stone Town Tour

Let's just say it was very hot that day... Not the most engaging or enthusiastic guided tour we have experienced.
On the positive side, we worked with Nouman for making arrangements for transfers throughout the rest of our stay on Zanzibar, and that part worked out very well.

We definitely would have needed a tour guide to help us to navigate the confusing streets of Stone Town. We met our tour guide at the Cape Town Fish Market Restaurant , so it was easy to find him. Our tour guide was nice and really mellow and he allowed us to go at our own pace. During our 2 1/2 hour tour we went by the market, several stores, the slave dungeon and memorial, the church, the old fort, and the Freddie Mercury Museum. The tour was interesting and informative. I recommend signing up for this tour.

We took a tour of Stone Town, arranged by Tanzania Specialist. It was very informative and included multiple regions: the markets, the slave trader sites, the water front and more! There are lots of good places to eat - and we had some authentic food which was delicious. Our guide was invaluable since the tiny streets weave around and it would be easy to get lost! There is a lot of hustle/bustle with shoppers and vendors (great places to get some deals - especially on spices) . You mingle with the locals and get a real sense of the life.

We chose a registered tour guide when we arrived at Stone Town - Barack, he was terrific, excellent English and very knowledgeable
We saw far more than if we’d been alone and as it was so hot he made various tops for us and found somewhere to drink in the day, it’s Ramadan so difficult to find anywhere to eat and drink in the day
As a result we’ve decided to do two further tours with him. The official tour Guides are registered with the Government, we didn’t realise this until we arrived in Stone Town so be careful as lots of beach boys will try to persuade you to go with them, they may be great but they’re not registered

Amazing tour starting with prison island. Very friendly guide who is patient, willing to take as many pictures. Very thorough in his history of stone town and showed me the best market and different stores for all the stuff I needed. I would highly recommend him.

Thanks Nouman for making our holiday a memorable one. From airport pick-up to places to visit and drop-off, everything was without stress and on time. He was so helpful with options when we felt like changing one of the activities. And that was it! The best,visiting the spice town and eating the best spice rice in spice town!. I'll 💯 recommend Nouman to friends and family.

Our tour guide, Nouman, was phenomenal! He was very kind, professional, informative, and respectful. We learned so much and really enjoyed ourselves. He remained patient with us throughout.
