What You Will Do

Immerse yourself in the history and culture of Lama Temple and Confucius Temple on this 2 hour private walking tour. After an introduction to the Chinese history, follow a guide to stroll around different courtyards and halls to discover temples rich history and culture. Tour also including a visit to Guozijian which was the highest educational institution and administering organ of education set up by the state during the three dynasties of Yuan, Ming and Qing. You'll have plenty of time to ask questions and snap photos. When make booking you can choose to include a private transfer to make the tour more comfortable.

Lama Temple (Yonghegong)

Your English speaking guide will pick you up in your hotel's lobby. Then heading directly to the Lama Temple. (when make booking you can choose to include a private transfer or just take taxi or subway at your own cost). The Lama temple is the biggest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Beijing, which is also a popular worship place for locals. Converted from a royal palace to a Tibetan Buddhist temple by the emperor in the Qing Dynasty, the lama temple has been one of the most influential Tibetan Buddhism temples in China. Today it is not only a museum of Tibetan Buddhism but also a functioning temple where locals pray. Follow your tour guide to stroll around the courtyards and halls to discover three treasures in the temple: the largest sandalwood Buddha in the world, the bronze Buddhas of past, present, and future, and the 500-Arhat-Hill.
