Mahabalipuram walking tour by tourism ministry approved company

The site is fabulous, and thanks to our guide Ramesh, it was a fantastic experience. He gave us precious pieces of information to understand all the details. We would have missed a lot without his knowledge. I highly recommend to do the visit with him.

The tour around Mahabalipuram was a great introduction to the town and covered all the key sites (10 sites/monuments). The tour was done at a good pace (3 hours) and gave plenty of time to see the sights without feeling rushed. My guide, Ramesh, was very knowledgeable. He spoke about the sites and pointed out the key areas, but then let you have some free time to explore and take photographs on your own at each place - I did not feel rushed at any point to move to the next site. Driving around by tuktuk was absolutely fine (Mahabalipuram is much more laid back than Chennai), and it was only a short distance between the sites. Definitely take the morning tour, as by the end the temperature was getting hot! My tour was done directly from Mahabalipuram as I was already staying there (no transfer from Chennai), and also was a private tour for just me - as a solo traveller its often difficult to find tours that don't insist on a minimum of 2 or more people, or where you end up in large coach groups, so this made a great difference. This was the third tour I did through 5 Senses Tours, and would definitely recommend them, was easy to book via What's App.

We had a cool experience visiting all the temples. It was very hot but we were able to take breaks and stop for water. I recommend this tour with Senses tour. Our guide Ramesh was very nice and patient.

This was our third tour using 5 Senses tours and all three have been great so far. We had limited time in India and I reached out to 5 Senses Tours who took care of everything, including arranging for our train ride to Chennai. My daughter wanted to visit Pondicherri and we decided to include a tour of Mahabalipuram. Thilak, our driver, picked us up from Chennai train station and drove us to Mahabalipuram where we met our tour guide Ramesh. The weather was very hot, but we still enjoyed the visit to the various sites. Ramesh was very informative and he and Thilak took great care of us.

Five senses were happy to adapt the tour so that we could travel on to Pondicherry after we had visited Mahabalipuram.
It was a very hot day but we had plenty water and cold drinks provided and a lovely meal at the end. Ramesh was a great guide giving us the information in the shade and taking photos for us. We fitted in an extra stop on the beach where we could paddle in the waves. We both felt we would have missed out on so much information had we tried to visit on our own

Gopal was an excellent guide. The tour of Mahabalipurum was really enlightening and it was great to have the stories & context behind the monuments. Would definitely recommend!

Had a lovely tour with our guide Ramesh around Mahabalipuram, seeing all the ancient sites of Mahabalipuram.

Ramesh arranged for us to have two rickshaws with us to ferry us from each site as we were a group of 5 and my in laws have some mobility issues.

Ramesh was very friendly and informative. At no point did he rush us and often encouraged us to take our time as he wished for us to fully enjoy our half day tour.

I remember going to visit Mahabalipuram as a kid. About the only thing I remembered from then was Krishna's Butter Ball. This time around, I learned so much more. Our guide Ramesh explained the periods when the various structures were built/carved, the styles of temples and his explanation of the Arjuna's penance relief brought context and meaning to the massive catching.

We had a very nice 3 hour guided tour of Mahabalipuram with Ramesh . He is very knowledgeable and friendly. We highly recommend this tour .

Our driver arrived promptly and he took us to meet our guide Ramesh an hour later. Ramesh was knowledgeable and very accommodating. He was polite, kind and engaging all the way through. It was impressive to see all the monuments. We finished off the tour with a lovely vegetarian Thali. It was a lovely tour!

Our guide knew a lot about the beautiful sights we visited and gave us enough time to take pictures. He also helped us with bothersome sellers and other tourists who wanted to take pictures with us. That made us feel very safe.
