Chef Bagus Balinese Indonesian Food Cooking Class

Learning about the how you cook the proper way of the food was a great experience and Chef Bagus was very good teacher

Loved chef Bagus, he really interacted eith ys sbd the other guests, he had great humour and we learnt a lot. Had a great time. 10/10!

Excellent sate mix: Babi, chicken, prawns and sate lilit. Plus the Babi kecap was mouthwatering. Bit of a ‘barn’ but good service and food.

I loved it. Food was good and he explained everything really well. We had so much food in the end and I hope they didn’t throw it away.
anyway would recommend to do it if you want to know more about the Indonesian cuisine.:)

We enjoyed our time at Balinese cooking, we originally gave the wrong hotel to be picked up from as soon as we realised this we contacted to them and they had no issues changing our pick up point.
The actual cooking class was good fun and informative. We each had a go at preparing the meals. Then enjoyed our food at the end.

Chef Bagus has great personality and was engaging. The cooking class was more of a leisure activity and was mostly rushed thru. The venue was very basic and definitely not a premium experience. It felt overpriced for the dishes ( pork ribs, chicken and fish satay, roasted chicken, mee goreng ) that was offered and the minimal cooking and food preparation activities. Overall something worth considering when in Kuta but probably the price should be around 40% cheaper to commensurate with the venue, menu and experience offered. Furthermore, there was no market tour which was listed as one of the activities.

I had the best time at this cooking class. Our chef Bagus was very experienced and provided a fun environment to learn in. The staff assisting him were fantastic and the recipes extremely tasty. Overall experience was one I won’t forget and I’m so glad I did the lesson.

Pick up smack on time as promised at our villa and a personal greeting from chef Bagus on arrival. Juice and glutinous rice balls were a great way to start the morning while we waited for the rest of the class to arrive. A total of 12 dishes were done as part of the class and we got to taste at various stages thought the morning. Chef Bagus is obviously a skilled chef but he is also a great entertainer and knows how to engage a crowd to create a fun, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The class culminated in a lunch which comprised the 12 dishes which were recipes for the class. I learnt some new tricks and got some great tips which I will take away with me as I will definitely be trying all 12 recipes at home over time. If I had one criticism is that is not really a 100% hands on cooking class. This is not an issue, but if you want/expect a class where you are doing all the chopping, crushing and measuring etc and cooking a dish from scratch by yourself you may be disappointed.

We had two drinks each with our meals for $40 Aud
There are cooking classes for $50 ahead with early morning fresh market shopping
Will definitely be back good value

Another amazing day learing how to cook authentic Balinese food ith Chef Bagus. This is my 3rd time doing the course and definitely recommend people to do the course with Chef Bagu. The best part is eating all of the delightful dishes for lunch washed down with a very cheap Bintang

Best ribs and cooking class in Bali

Chef Bagus organises your pick up from your hotel for the cooking class, it is so much fun lots of laughs with amazing food to eat after.

Dinner what can l say the ribs are to die for we eat there often never had a bad meal.

Your food was amazing and your ribs melted in our mouths . Your cooking class was also amazing . Your staff were friendly and you included everyone in the class . Wow , when the lunch feast came out that was amazing also . Don’t let one person pull you down . In your cooking class we were blessed to be taught from a world renowned chef .

Bagus and his helpers were awesome. Learnt alot with his cooking. Recommend anyone to do this. Had some great laughs and met some awesome people. Great value for money

We did the cooking class with chef bagus October 2022 and had the best time. It was a lot of fun and did learn a lot too. It finished off with lunch and that was delicious. The staff were so friendly and chef bagus is a great guy and a lot of fun.
My mum, partner and I strongly recommend thus to anyone. We also had dinner there a few times which was fantastic too. Thank you Chef and staff for such a wonderful day and cooking experience

Great way to learn about Indonesian food, a very enjoyable experience ending with a delicious lunch. Very good value for money too, pick up and drop off from our accommodation made the whole experience very easy.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Chef Bagus Cooking Class the other day. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to his restaurant where we spent the next 5+ hours with 14 wonderful people. We created 12 authentic Balinese recipes together and enjoyed a wonderful feast together at the end. We even learned the secret recipe to his world famous ribs :) Chef is a wonderful man and makes the class very fun and entertaining. His staff is also amazing and very helpful. Highly recommend!

Great class and experience. The chef has a great sense of humor and was very informative about Balinese food as well as good cooking technique. Good environment and great support staff.
