Eagle Square

Langkawi, often called Kedah’s gem, gets its name from the red-backed sea eagle that dominates the island’s skies. According to folklore, the term ‘Lang’ is derived from the Malay word ‘helang’, signifying Eagle. ‘Kawi’ comes from a word that means marble or reddish brown. A group of reddish-brown Eagles flying high in the sky adds to the legend and symbol of Langkawi. In Malay, ‘Dataran’ means square, leading us to English’s magnificent ‘Dataran Lang’ or Eagle Square.

Durian Perangin Waterfall

Durian Perangin waterfall is situated on the north eastern part of Langkawi and doesn’t smell or taste like Durian at all. The name is a result of the tall durian trees that grow in the forests near the waterfall. Durian Perangin is a multi-tiered waterfall and each cascade makes a freshwater pool at its base. It is slanted towards the northern part of Gunung Raya, the highest mountain peak in Langkawi. The waterfall is surrounded by intriguing rock formations and dense forest. The water of Durian Perangin is cool and refreshing which makes it a popular spot among locals for picnics or a quiet day away.

Tanjung Rhu Beach

Situated gracefully on the enchanting northeastern corner of Langkawi, Pantai Tanjung Rhu draws its name from the majestic casuarina trees that elegantly adorn its shoreline. Derived from the Malay language, ‘Pantai’ translates to the beach, ‘Tanjung’ signifies a cape, and ‘Rhu’ symbolizes the magnificent Casuarina tree.
This picturesque destination offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty and cultural significance, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the tranquil ambience while basking in the breathtaking views and rich heritage that Pantai Tanjung Rhu has to offer.

Langkawi Craft Complex

The Langkawi Craft Complex started its operations since 1996 and is built across 32 acres of land located at Jalan Teluk Yu in the District of Bohor, Langkawi Island. The architecture of the complex is adorned with Islamic motifs elements emphasising on decorative geometric designs on the walls detailing that blend well with a Malay architectural design accessories.
The Langkawi Craft Complex houses a collection of various local craft products including the iconic Langkawi crafts products for sale. At the same time, visitors have the opportunity to browse through the Heritage Museum and the Customs & Wedding Museum within the Langkawi Craft Complex to appreciate the heritage craft products and the local wedding customs on display. Apart from engaging in interactive craft activities, visitors have the opportunity to record beautiful moments at the Dataran Tangga Seribu (A Thousand Staircase Square), one of the tourism icons at the Langkawi Craft Complex.

Langkawi Skybridge Cable Car

Also known as Langkawi Cable Car, Langkawi SkyCab is a 2150 meters long cable car ride that offers you a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
This 15-minute ride is full of adventure and allows you to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Machinchang mountain range. As the ride hovers over the lush green rainforest, you also get a chance to experience a glimpse of the 550 million years old rock formation
