Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Day Tour Details: • A representative from a company will meet you at the hotel/airport and brief you about the day tour program • If you are leaving from the Hotel; after an early breakfast, you will be taken for the day sightseeing in four major places in Kathmandu such as Kathmandu Durbar Square Or Patan Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath (Monkey temple), Boudhnath, Pashupatinath Temple.

We begin today’s sightseeing tour with a visit to Swoyambhunath also called as Monkey Temple; a 2500 year old site, it is said to be the Radiant Lotus of the valley-mythology settled when the water was drained by Manjushri, the god wisdom. The Five dhyani Buddha attended by their consorts are enshrined at the base of the stupa, then continues tour into Boudhanath. The Boudhanath Stupa is the world’s largest Stupa and of Tibetan Buddhist Culture in Nepal. Antique shops where you can buy things of you preference relating to Buddhists religion such as Thankas and etc. After the Boudhanath, you will proceed to Pashupatinath Temple stands along the side of Bagmati River. It is the sacred temple for Hindus. Thousands of people including foreigners visit this temple everyday; this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, is also a site for Hindu Cremation. During the festival of Shiva Ratri, the temple is crowed by hundreds of thousands of devotees. In the afternoon, you will visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square; also known as Basantapur Durbar Square including Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter, Mahadev and Parvati Temple, Machhender Bahl – holy place for the Buddhists and Hindus, Temple house of Kumari, the vestal virgin or the Living Goddess. Due to the devastating earthquake happened in April, 2015, some of the temple are destroyed and impacted but still worth to visit. Alternatievely, we can also go for Patan Durbar Square instead of Kathmandu. After completing a day tour excursion, you will be dropped-off to your reserved hotel.
