Udawalawe National Park
Udawalawe National Park is located in the southern part of Sri Lanka and is famous for its rich wildlife, especially its large population of Asian elephants. Covering an area of approximately 30,821 hectares, the park was established in 1972 and is a key destination for wildlife enthusiasts. It offers a diverse range of flora and fauna, including leopards, crocodiles, water buffaloes, and a variety of bird species. The park's landscape features grasslands, wetlands, and scrub forests, providing excellent opportunities for safaris. Udawalawe is also home to the Udawalawe Reservoir, which attracts many animals, especially during dry seasons.
