Customer Reviews
i had high hopes that this was going to be smooth and easy. Company reached out to me 48 hours prior and sent multiple contacts including a WhatsApp message. Sent a very helpful where to meet the driver video. All good up to this point.
Followed directions after getting my bags and walked to Gate 14 and looked for specific "handler" who would help us to our car. The guy looked at us and told us to stand behind the guy. Basically told us it'll be a few minutes but turned out closer to 10 mins as he was collecting about a dozen people. He barely knew who belonged to his group and he really couldn't care. He takes us to an elevator and since we all couldn't fit into one, he just tells everyone to meet him on third level. Why didn't he instruct people where to to as there are 20 other people who are trying to get on elevator from competing companies?
We get down the elevator unescorted but there's at least 100 people down there belonging to 6-8 other transport companies. This handler then starts making what I consider to be Uber calls trying to line up drivers with customers. We were first checked in but he NEVER even got a transport and essentially passed us on to another company. We didn't know what was happening. it was now over 40 mins since we made contact with this handler.
There's random vehicles pulling in and out of the parking spaces picking up tons of other customers. After about 7-8 mins after the handler bailed on us, some random guy comes up to us who turns out to be our driver. He had the handler on the phone and he told us this was our driver. We were not feeling comfortable with who we were randomly riding with as the guy had this van with an enclosed compartment where you couldn't even speak to the driver.
As we were driving blindly down the road, tried to contact Viator to report the issue. Customer service person did not understand what i was reporting and kept insisting on how much i was requesting for a refund. i was reporting that i was randomly thrown into a vehicle and didn't even talk to driver to determine where i was supposed to be dropped off at. This was a totally unknown country for me and it was not very comfortable. Again, could not look out darkened windows of the vehicle. Viator completely failed in their support and later sent me very curt email that my refund request was denied.
They never once understood my issue and seemed very uncaring. Their customer service rep needs retraining as well as this "contracted" company should be retrained in handling customers and making them feel comfortable with the service.
Very poor across the board on both Viator and this company.
