Taichung Literature Museum
20 minutes
Tour starts from the Taichung Literature Museum: it used to be police quarters, which were built in 1932 during the Japanese colonial period. It consists of six buildings, which are used for permanent exhibitions, themed exhibitions, children's literature, workshops and lectures, themed dining area, and administration.

Natural Way Six Arts Cultrural Center
20 minutes
Visit the Six Arts Cultural Center, built in 1937 during the Japanese rule, it is a martial arts hall for daily training of martial arts officers and police. The original historical appearance is completely preserved, which is of great value for preservation, reuse and architectural research.

Taichung Second Market
30 minutes
The Taichung second market, built in 1917, is divided in 6 sections; each section was dedicated to a category. It’s hexagonal design make it very special ( and easy to get lost! ) Time for lunch in this area, don’t miss the specialties that the market has to offer, noodles, dumplings and buns!

Miyahara
30 minutes
The walk will continue to Miyahara, a red-brick architecture built by Miyahara Takeo, a Japanese ophthalmology doctor in 1927. It was the largest ophthalmology clinic in Taichung during the Japanese colonial period. Today, it is an elegant place with several pastry businesses. Wonderfully restorated, the building is a place full of history and wonder.

Rainbow Village Taichung

A “one man show” painted by a very talented, and rather visionary, old veteran soldier, MR. Huang.

Gaomei Wetland

A perfect place to enjoy the sunset and the cool breeze from the sea. Covering an area of 1,733 acres (701.3 hectares), Gaomei Wetland is a mix of mud and sand. It is a famous habitat for a diverse number of birds, fish, crabs, invertebrates, and plants. You will have some free time to explore the area and discover the ecosystem and the little inhabitants of this land: the fiddler crabs. They are really unusual as they have an extremely large claw.

National Taichung Theater
30 minutes
The theater is designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Using the concept of the primitive caves and holes, Toyo Ito designed the world's first and only Sound Cave Curved Wall for National Taichung Theater. There are no vertical and horizontal structures and it’s the world’s first curve surfaced hanging structure architect.
