Koh Samui Jungle Kitchen - Half Day Cooking Class

Just wanted to say what fabulous time I had at the jungle kitchen with Lin and Tom.
I learnt so much in the time that I was there and, more importantly, enjoyed every minute.
Their setting is out of this world and is matched by their enthusiasm, knowledge, and skill.
Lin helped us cook the best meal each of us had ever cooked, and the experience of then sitting down with new friends to enjoy our dishes and share a couple of beers was just brilliant.

We had the best evening at Lin and Tom’s jungle retreat. Outside kitchen amazing, ingredients fresh from the garden, Lin explained all the techniques and gave great tips. Tom ensured we didn’t go thirsty. After cooking our 3 course menu, we sat down to enjoy delicious food, great company and spectacular views. A lovely get away for a few hours away from the hustle and bustle!

Tom & Lin invite you into there beautiful home & instantly it feels like you are cooking dinner with friends ! Lin’s talents are on display the moment you walk into the outdoor kitchen & see the set up !
Cooking over coals is one of life’s great skills & Lin certainly runs a very memorable night from the moment you are met at the front door ! Plenty of room to move around & scenic view out to Koh Phangan !
We were a family of 2 adults 3 teenagers joined by 2 others to make a group of 7 & both Lin & Tom made us feel welcome & the tuition was exceptional !
We prepared Spring Rolls , Duck Curry & Pad See Ew … washed down with a Singha at the end of our cooking it was the ultimate cooking experience!

Lin & Tom’s Thai cooking experience deserves 5 stars. Lin’s a master at explaining the how and why. Together they have created an awesome experience for a passionate home cook. And great pics to tell the story.

We had an amazing time learning to make some incredibly delicious food! Lin & Tom make the experience incredible with the outdoor cooking set up, and step by step instructions on how to make three delicious dishes! We had a blast getting to know them, and the family style dinner that followed! Highly recommend!

This was such an immersive and authentic experience. My wife and I went twice and both times we had an amazing experience. All the food is harvested from their farm and garden, you can even visit the farm! Linn runs the show, and her husband Tom guides you through with some additional culture and history. It is an experience not to be missed if you are visiting Koh Samui!

It was a wonderful experience to spend time with Tom and Lyn. Both are really kind hosts and you feel warm welcome at the first minute. We was picked up at our hotel and drove directly in the jungle. After arrival Tom and Lyn showed us the phantastic area and of course the kitchen! It was unbelieveable: such a great view from the kitchen to the Jungle. After That Lyn explained the dishes to Cook. Several days before cooking class Tom and Lyn asked for special wishes. That was a great offer and so we had a wish for a dish and Lyn bought everything for it. All ingrediences were fresh because Most of them were from their Own Garden. It was very interesting to see different plants and to Listen to Lyn‘s explanations. Lyn is a really well organized and wonderful chef. First she Tell about the dishes and the work to do. She helps during cooking because everybody has it‘s own cooking Place. The Group of cooking People is very small so it es really interesting to talk to Each other to share cooking exerience.
The Self cooked dishes were unbelieveably delecious! And everybody got a very nice Gift from Tom and Lyn.
After cooking and eating Tom and Lyn showed us a nice place nearby. Here you Could watch the Jungle. After that Tom and Lyn was Driving all participants at Home.

This is a must do! Linn is a marvelous teacher and Tom an amazing host! You only have to book. You will be picked up and taken to an astonishing location. You will be introduced to the plants/herbs/ingredients which will be used for cooking and then brought to a wonderful traditional Thai kitchen. Be surprised! Marvelous time cooking, great blend of colors and smells. And at the end you get the best meal you will get in Samui! Cooked by you 🤗

We had a great time in this cooking class. We were collected from our hotel by taxi, and after a scenic drive up the mountain, were dropped off at the bar associated with Jungle Kitchen where we were served some fresh mango juice while we waited for the rest of our classmates to arrive.

Our menu consisted of red curry with grilled duck, tamarind prawns, and pad thai. I've never been particularly excited about pad thai, but this was insanely delicious! And the tamarind prawns were amazing — my fiancé, who doesn't like seafood, even enjoyed them. My fiancé also has a soy intolerance, and Lin was very helpful in making sure he avoided the soy sauce and didn't end up feeling sick later.

We had plenty of leftovers afterward, which we got to take home along with some souvenir coconut bowls. We got to take the recipes with us as well, although without all the garden fresh ingredients, I'm not sure we'll be able to fully replicate the deliciousness of everything we made.

We visited Thailand as a special occasion for my mother's 80th birthday and a Thai cookery class was to be a highlight of the trip.
Unfortunately she had a nasty fall and broke her wrist. As far as the Jungle Kitchen were concerned they could not have been more helpful and considerate. They let us rearrange our day at short notice. Then when we did go, my mother obviously couldn't take part directly in the cooking, but she was still made very welcome, given a prominent seat in the kitchen and throughly looked after. I could not have asked for more. This alone would be reason enough to highly recommend Jungle Kitchen.
However, in addition the whole experience was excellent. It takes place in a beautiful setting, in the middle of an exotic kitchen garden. The whole afternoon was very special and the food we cooked delicious! A must do when you are in Koh Samui.

Thanks Lyn and Tom for the unforgttable cooking course with you. We enjoyed your authentic Thai cooking and the nice ambience in the rain forest away from the very touristic areas. I can recommend to everyone who loves good Thai food and a very special event.

Thank you Tom and Lin for a great afternoons entertainment. The trip to your cooking school was made exciting by the weather, rain and steep roads makes for fun driving but your driver was very good and got us there safely. The location is just stunning and the gardens are beautiful. Lin was very knowledgeable about the plants growing in the garden and their uses in Thai cooking. The cooking class was much fun and much learning for all three of us. A good day was had by all of us and the photos and recipes were received promptly. Thank you again for a great afterrnoon. Good luck with your cooking school and any future venture.

Such a fun afternoon! We were collected from our hotel by Tom and driven 30 mins into the middle of the island,superb views and an amazing location. We picked the food from the huge kitchen garden then cooked it in a stunning kitchen looking over the jungle. We took our own wine but there is a bar there that sells beer. Lin is toms partner and she is an excellent chef and great teacher...she took us through the 3 dishes as we cooked them then we sat on the versnder and ate what we had cooked. So much fun,can highly recommend!

My friend and I booked the class in the afternoon on 21st, we actually arrived in Samui in the morning and we planned to take some rest in the morning in the hotel and take the less in the afternoon, but sadly our hotel can only check us in at 3 pm and we were too tired to make it. I sent a message to the host hoping to reschedule the lesson and the host was so kind and understanding and he agreed to reschedule the less to the next day.
Honestly speaking, I do not cook that much myself so I was a bit worried that I may not be able to catch up in the class, but the class is well-organized and well-prepared and I did learn how to make the three Thai dishes and get to know a variety of plants and herbs. We have a little trip to the Botanic garden and see where the ingredients come from and a walk to the viewpoint afterward to see the great mountain view and sunset. It is a wonderful experience and we love it. Big thanks to Tom for the all the nice pictures of us cooking and to Lin for teaching us how to make these delicious authentic Thai dishes. If you are looking for something interesting to do in Samui, I will definitely recommend this to you!

What makes this cooking class different is that it's at the top of the Samui mountains and that it's hosted by a Brit-turned-Thai. His partner handles the classes and he handles the photos and getting the drinks. Good times!

My wife and I were celebrating our second wedding anniversary and by chance the other couple on our day were celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary. Tom picked us up and we opted for the back of the pickup option to be driven to chilling hill by Tom in his Cool 4 wheel drive truck ( although we could have sat inside with Luxury air con )sitting on a soft blue bean bag in the open back the ride up through the jungle was the most fun and seeing baby buffalo in the jungle with fabulous views. On arrival we had a refreshing jungle mocktail followed by a tour of the amazing organic garden by Lin who has a phenomenal knowledge of local plants and herbs .All the ingredients were freshly picked for Thai green curry / signature Tamarind prawns and Morning glory ( a dish requested by the other couple as their favourite !)and also a green papaya salad . The food was delicious and cooked by us ! With Lins expert guidance ! Lins knowledge of plants and Thai cooking is amazing and the kitchen is gorgeous .While Tom discreetly took pictures we began to cook using traditional methods ,Mortar and pestle eating out of coconut bowls while listening to Toms beautiful choice of music with chilled beers available.It is the best food I’ve ever cooked the company amazing feeling like a day with friends and Chilling Hill is an oasis in the middle of Koh Samui and to top it all off it has a wonderful bar and a two minute walk to a secluded stunning viewing platform over the mountains and bays of Koh Samui.Thank-you To Tom and Lin who made our anniversary so special and to the hill where you can chill.
This is a once in a lifetime unique exclusive experience and something we will remember as the highlight of our trip.

We joined as a private class for a group of 5. Thanks Lin and Tom for all the arrangements, the kitchen is nice and clean. The ingredients are freshly got from the garden. We particularly love the fried prawns with tamarind sauce. This dish is a must do! Sure we would like to come back next time when we come to Koh Samui :)
