Paris Montparnasse Tower Guided Tour with Best View of the City

I loved hearing about the Montparnasse area and the people who lived there. Only problem, I had to race to keep up with the guide and could only hear her when close to her. If I stopped to take a photo, I missed the monologue.

Had an excellent tour of Montparnasse with Rim! I arrived late but she was able to catch me up and she was very thorough in explaining the history of Montparnasse and also emphasized the life of the legendary Josephine Baker. The lesbian and swingers clubs were interesting tidbits. Rim also took us through a beautiful cemetery and showed us various burial sights of famous Parisians and other leaders.

After the tour, she sent us her favorite recommendations which were so helpful. She also gave me a mini tour of Gare du Montparnasse station and showed me where to find the best macarons and cheap shopping for toiletries and souvenirs. Really appreciated that she accommodated my lateness and it made me feel special that she went out of her way to not only go over what I missed, but also giving me a mini tour of the train station.

Rim Tamara (RT) led us on a fun and interesting tour in Montparnasse of the haunts of famous literary and artistic personalities from the 1930’s and 1940’s. We visited cafes and restaurants where artists met and managed their collective creativity even during the Nazi occupation of the area. I’d recommend this tour to literary and history fans who want learn more about this unique area during such a unique time.

Great walking tour with RT, a local who knew lots of details about the history and the artists that we hadn't found in guidebooks or by walking around ourselves for three days.

Approximately two hour long trip, good to take in the late afternoon so you can couple it with the views from Paris Montparnasse Tower across Paris at sunset. Finish up with dinner in the original cafe society of the impressionist artists - Le Select or La Coupole (reservations recommended). Work backwards from sunset time. You need about 30 minutes for leisurely walk to the tower from the cemetery, then an hour or so there, then dinner if you want to follow that itinerary.

Ask for RT (or Arty as she's known), one of the best guides we had on this trip.

She took us round over Montmartre and had interesting stories to share. We learned a lot and got tips for good restaurants, wine, bread and musea.

We booked a walking tour through experience first (using go city paris pass), our guide was Rim Tamara, she was very entertaining and we wished we did this tour as soon as we got to Paris
Unfortunately, we did this tour on our last day, we didn't get to try all her food recommendations
Time flew fast and we didn't realized 90 minutes had passed! That's how enjoyable the tour was!

We had a very interesting and lovely tour and Rim Tamara told us about many interesting secrets and stories about the neighborhoods. We also visited a cemetery and she found a way to make it interesting and, in some ways, also funny and emotional. I think not everyone could do this. I whish you'll find R.T. on your way as a guide. You'll love her.

It was interesting to hear all about the old Montparnasse, but it is a shame that not much has survived to this day.

The tour is detailed, and the district is cute. Rim Tamara is nice and friendly; her suggestion is helpful when you want to explore the section more after the end of the tour. Great Experience!
