Rhine Valley Trip from Frankfurt including Rhine River Cruise

We travelled with Emerald Cruises and had an amazing time on the Emerald Sky. Everything was organised to the smallest detail and as a result there were no problems whatsoever. Claudia , the cruise director, worked very hard and had daily meetings to give us the details of the events of the following day. Constantin, the hotel director, also worked hard to give us the best experience even leaving us a bottle of champagne and anniversary card in our cabin on our wedding anniversary! There was an off board excursion almost every day using local guides which were very informative. The pick up and drop off for the airport were also very slickly done.
The food and entertainment was also first class, in both cases adapted to the region through which we were passing. The staterooms were roomy and very modern ensuites, and the cabin service was excellent. There were even umbrellas and walking sticks supplied in the stateroom. We slept soundly every night!
All in all, this was an extremely good holiday and I must give credit to Emerald for making it so. I will certainly be sailing with them again.

It was a nice tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very personable. It does feel like a long time to get to the Rhine valley. You are on the boat for an hour and a half. You have lunch at the most unusual restaurant. Lunch was good Then after boat tour you have a wine tasting at the same restaurant

The cruise was extremely enjoyable and the scenery was beautiful. Each castle was as impressive as the one before.

Took this tour to celebrate another couple's Anniversary with my wife. We were picked up near the Frankfurt Main rail station by a small but very nice bus. We drove an hour to the top of a large hill overlooking the Rhine River where a huge statue celebrating a past war with France was erected. After we were taken to a chairlift (top of hill) and given an option to ride down the scenic lift to the bottom for an additional 7 euro or take the bus down. The lift was nice, but we felt a little extorted to pay an additional fee after being charged over 160 euro each for the tour. After reaching the bottom we walked a short way to a nice restraunt with a lot of decorations near the bank of the river and fed either Schnitchel and fries, a foot long hotdog with potato salad, or a vegetarian dish. Drinks were not included and cost additional. Note: this has been the only trip we have taken that includes wine tasting that drinks cost extra at the meal. This was in poor taste and sad that we were charged again for a very small coke with our very poor/cheap looking meal. We then walked a short way to the dock and boarded a really nice bot that took us down river for about 1.5 hours and we had a nice piece of cake (because we were still hungry) and some drinks because we were very thirsty....of course at an additional charge. After off loading the boat we boarded the bus for a 30 minute trip to back to the restraunt where we were put in a warm room in front of 4 small shot glasses each filled only 1/3 with the selected wine. Hardly worth calling it a true wine tasting. I am embarrassed for this company to charge so much for what was given and disapointed in the extra costs that were asked. I would not recommend this tour.

Comfortable air conditioned/heated bus, good lunch, comfortable cruiseship with indoor and outdoor seating. The entire excursion was fun and informative.

A great day trip to get a little peak of the area. A fantastic very knowledgeable guide. Well worth the trip, highly recommend especially if you are on limited time in the region.

Very informative guide, George knew his sites and German history through and through. I would highly recommend this tour for handicapped people, George went beyond the call of duty to help me enjoy the tour in a wheelchair

It was a fantastic tour! The views were breathtaking, and the restaurant's interior design was stunning. Our guide was both professional and had a great sense of humor.

This is not just a river cruise. You travel in a bus/van to an exceptional restaurant for lunch then travel some more to where you get on the river boat. The cruise is only 1 1/2 hours then back on the van to return. The driver, Michael was very knowledgeable and personable. We did have a good time.

The tour was rushed, the food was dreadful - they took us to a place that in my opinion whilst it was quirky and different did not reflect the beauty of the area or the wonderful people. They took us back again to same place for wine tasting - which was nothing more than 4 tiny shot glasses. The time cruising in the boat was short. I thought the lunch was included on board making a longer and more relaxed experience.

It was a great experience. The tour is reliant on the river levels that vary. Too high or too low, tge boat can’t operate

This tour was lovely! George was the best guide; he was funny and very knowledgeable about tons of stuff (area, history, people), lots to learn. The bus was big and comfortable. We stopped for 20 minutes at an amazing monument so that was a bonus, drove all along the beautiful river valley, lots of small towns with cool buildings/houses, saw lots of insane awesome castles, had a great home cooked style German lunch in a very neat unusual restaurant, the boat tour was a nice break to sit and relax and see the views from a different point of view. Overall, very satisfied and would recommend!

We were picked up on time, and our driver kept us entertained with humorous conversation. Our tour followed a reverse itinerary, starting with the boat ride, followed by lunch, and concluding with a visit to the monument before heading back to the city. The Rhine River cruise was engaging, featuring informative commentary on the castles along the route. As requested, we were served a delicious vegetarian meal, including salad, fries, and patties. After lunch, we enjoyed a wine-tasting session. We arrived back in Frankfurt by 6:15 PM. Overall, it was a well-organized and enjoyable excursion, though we regretted missing the Lorelei statue.

Trip was great! Our guide, Michael, added a lot to the trip. Very friendly, interesting. Scenery was amazing. All details were well handled by the tour operator.

We enjoyed the trip. I’m sure it’s much more popular when it’s warmer, but the offseason gave us a more intimate tour with only one other couple. We were able to make more stops for pictures.

Our guide was excellent. He was funny and knowledgeable and gave us a very good experience.

I noticed several lukewarm reviews on the food. It certainly wasn’t the best meal I’ve had, but it was okay. The restaurant deserves mention as it was full of TONS of nautical decor. You really have to see it to believe it. The owner was friendly.

I’m not at all a wine connoisseur (snob), so I enjoyed the wine tasting.

All in all, an enjoyable trip.
