What You Will Do

Your guide will meet you at the main train station before whisking you away to the magnificent palace of Nymphenburg where you will spend an unforgettable half day in one of the most beautiful of Europe’s palaces. As you walk through stunning baroque interior your guide will cover the fascinatingly history of the Wittelsbach royal family in an age of glory, war and betrayal. You will also learn about daily court life from aristocratic flirting to the daily grind of the servants. Outside the palace there are the beautiful park gardens to explore with their four famous pleasure palaces such as the Amalienburg hunting lodge with its mini hall of mirrors or the Badenburg, the royal 18th century swimming pool. (Park palaces closed 16th October to March 28th) Finally you will be taken back to Munich Hbf or you can join your guide in a local beer garden to cool off.

Nymphenburg Palace

Your guide will meet you at the main train station before whisking you away to the ‘Versalles of Munich’. Inside you will be taken through the beautiful baroque palace as you learn about the colourful history of the royal family as they played the real life Game of Thrones. You will also discuss court life from aristocratic flirting to the daily grind of the servants. You will also be given free time to explore the palace rooms yourselves. Outside you will explore the magnificent gardens and as you walk past fountains and statues to discover the Nymphenburg’s pleasure palaces such as the Amalienburg hunting lodge with its mini hall of mirrors and the Badenburg, a royal 18th century swimming pool.
