Etna & Taormina: Tasting, Cable car & off road to 2920m

The pick up and drop off process from the cruise port went very smoothly. Our Driver Bruna was very friendly, accommodating and enjoyed showing us the beauty of Mt Etna and the surrounding area. She also gave us plenty of time to visit Taormina and had us back to Catania on time.

What an experience- such a wonderful day. It’s not everyday you stand on a live volcano! Our guide Peppe was the best guide - friendly accommodating flexible and knowledgeable. Taormina was the cutest and quaintest town perched up on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. We were collected and dropped off at the port on time. Excellent tour. Recommend this one.

Excellent from start to finish. The company was responsive with a couple of questions I had before the tour. The night before the guide, Guiseppe reached out to reconfirm the time and the meeting point. The car was clean and comfortable and we could not have wished for a better guide. He spoke perfect English, was very courteous and the information he shared was so interesting. He included historical information regarding Mount Etna and Taormina and also cultural information about Catania and its environs. He was very respectful of time management which we appreciated since we were in a cruise boat. The tour to Etna involved a scenic drive, a cable car and a four by four trip with an optional hike to one of the craters. You cannot go to the summit as Etna is an active volcano. Taormina was a spectacular town perched on top of a hill. Great view and shopping and the Greek amphitheater was very interesting to visit. We could not have been any happier. Giuseppe is an asset to the company he works for and the hospitality industry in which he has chosen to work.

Bruna was a great host, she was very knowledgeable and at all times strove to give us the best trip we could have had and I am happy to say she exceeded what we expected. The trip up Etna was great and well worth the extra to take the cable car and then off-road followed by a guided walk upto the highest point possible without gear. The trip to Taormina topped the day off. Good trip.

You say I am reviewing Etna, Taormina Cable Car and off road to 2920 m.
However I didn't get the cable car and off road to 2929m.
I ended up paying a fortune to listen to a guide I struggled to understand.

The first female tour guide so that finally I can ask to take me the cleanest toilet during the tour (the first time in Italy that I could use clean toilet) she is very friendly and deep knowledge around the area. We had a great time in both Etna and Taormina. I strongly recommend this tour. If you want to experience Etona, take a cable car!! You won’t regret!

Serena was an excellent driver. in addition she was helpful in directing and helping us navigate the city suggesting an excellent restaurant for lunch and sharing interesting facts. You are lucky to have her.

Our Mt. Etna experience was wonderful.. Our driver was prompt, careful on the mountain roads and very courteous. The cable car ride followed by the off road bus further up the mountain provided superb views. We were fortunate that the weather cooperated. It was very cold at top, and could have worn gloves and a ski cap. After leaving Etna we were driven to Taormina where we walked through the city center and found a restaurant overlooking the sea to have lunch.. Great tour!

Excellent value day trip from Catania to experience the majesty and wonder of Mt Etna against the contrasting laid back atmosphere of such a beautiful small town with Etna in the background. Highly recommend visiting both given their proximity and historical connection.
