Customer Reviews
As I noted in a previous review, they tell you to arrive 30 minutes early, and they mean it! We arrived 45 minutes early, and I took the time to visit the restroom in the terminal, which is located on the opposite end of the station. By the time I made it to the the tours and tickets location, my husband was frantically waving at me, as two busloads of tourists had already left.
You have to allow time to trade in your vouchers for actual tickets, which doesn't make sense. Fortunately, my husband took care of this while waiting. From this location, you have to walk a distance to the buses.
Our ride to Keukenhof was pleasant on a sunny day, and our guide showed us many points of interest. Upon arriving at the gardens, we were given maps of the gardens and our admission tickets. We were given clear directions on when and where to return to our bus later in the day.
We easily walked through the admission gates without delay.
We had about four hours to enjoy these amazing gardens, and I would highly recommend visiting this magical place. If you can get there on your own, it would be nice to be able to visit there without time constraints, but only you can decide what works for you.
Upon returning to our bus at the determined time, we were surprised that the driver had moved it from one lane to another. Fortunately, I had taken a photo of the bus number and license. Everyone gathered in a timely fashion, except for one person. She was five minutes late, saying that she almost got on the wrong bus. The guide was unwilling to wait for her, and said that we had to leave. Several persons on the tour objected to this and said that we had to wait for her. Reluctantly, he did. She found us and was very apologetic.
I have been on many tours throughout the world, and know the frustration of waiting for "latecomers". However, five minutes is not unreasonable, given the fact that the bus had been moved. I felt that the guide was inappropriately rude.
The bus ride was fine; heavy traffic around the site delayed us, but it would have been far worse if we'd tried to go on our own.
