Guided Kayak Tour: Exploring Benagil Caves

This could have been so much better! The guide and the captain gave functional information but we’re simply not very personable. There was no explanation whatsoever about the caves and how they were formed - this would have been a simple way of engaging the group and educating them. Other groups in the caves at the same time (chaotic but then I suspect the tour needs to be done by everyone at the same time due to the tide) we’re obviously collected together and the guide was giving them information. My kids and I enjoyed the experience but I would consider a different company (we went with Seacretours) as there are many.

We have a lot of fun! Amazing familiar experience! It was one of the best activities we did. We were afraid because we just checked other massive groups. But we were a small group and it was nice!

Just returned from our Benagil Kayak tour with captain Hugo and guide Victo. Our group of 5 (2 parents, 3 kids) enjoyed every moment of this seaside adventure. Victo was very helpful in showing us the best path inside the cave and secured the kayaks. As it was a busy day many boats entered and left the cave at the same time. A bit like Picadilly Circus on water. Really glad we were blessed with an experienced guide like Victo to navigate us through with ease. We entered another little cave and paddled along some amazing rock formations only accessible by boat. Then we were helped back onboard by Hugo and Victo for the return trip. The whole organization of the trip felt very professional and we will definitely book with them again!

Victor and Christiano took us on an amazing tour of the Benagil caves! The boat ride out to the caves was very nice but when we arrived to the caves we were in awe!! They were very careful to get everyone safely onto the kayaks and led us all through the caves. We absolutely LOVED this tour!! Definitely one of the highlights of our vacation.

Our big kiids really enjoyed it too they said it was the highlight of the holiday. Thanks to our guide David.

The trip was better than expected. Besides the main cave we kayaked into several other caves; some very small and so cool! Would definitely recommend...try booking the 9:30 in the morning tour - less people. Jump in at the end - so worth it!

Our family of five (including two teens and a 20-something) all enjoyed our tour with SeacreTours. From the friendly front desk staff to the crew (Cristiano and Victor) the team was great. It was a fun morning and we’d recommend it!

Kayaking in and around the cliffs was incredible. It has to be experienced to truly appreciate it. I would highly recommend this tour. The guides were extremely friendly.

The crew was fabulous. Very helpful and made you feel very comfortable. It was nice having the photographer along for taking pictures. There was a lot of great shots and the price was very reasonable.

An amazing day and highly recommend!

I wasn't sure if we would get the youngest member of the group on the kayak as you disembark backwards from the boat off a ramp, but David and Christiano were extremely considerate and did an amazing job.

We were taken by boat to just outside the Benagil caves and from there we jumped into the kayaks to spend 15 mins in the cave. The tide was quite high, the sea quite choppy and ofc it was incredibly busy but David did an excellent job of getting us all into the cave quickly and safely.

From there we traveled east along the coast. I suspect the weather prevented some of the cave exploration but it was lovely and quiet and we had the opportunity to enter another cave which was beautiful. Once back on the boat you have the opportunity to take a dip in the sea and then it's back to albufeira. The length of the trip was perfect for a family or beginners.

Amazing, Jonathan the guide was the best. Defo recommend this, its half a day, you just get on the boat, they drive to the caves, you get in a kayak then you see the caves via kayak and follow the crowd.

Absolutely loved the Benagil kayak tour - Perfect for all abilities (although we’d kayaked before).

The caves can get extremely busy (almost appeared like the D-Day landings with all the various groups in the cave!) but our guide was brilliant at making sure that everyone in our group got in and out okay without capsizing…unlike a few other groups.

Some incredible views across the coast, and the free bottle of water was a plus as well. One thing I’d recommend would be to bring a waterproof phone case, allowing for photo opportunities.

Booked this trip after reading good reviews. I can't swim well and made this clear to the guide at the start. He leads the group in a small Rib boat but was so far ahead of everyone you could barely see him at times. No safety demo was given or guidance on what to do if you run into trouble. Unfortunately another kayak hit ours into the wall of a sea cave and we capsized, I was thrown into the wall etc. After someone else alerter the guide he flipped our kayak back and was v unhelpful, would not let me into his boat and the main boat was completely out of view miles away. Fairly horrific experience for a beginner, more suitable for experienced kayakers!!

Such a good day out! The staff were lovely and chatty to everyone, really made an effort. Such a good kayaking trip too and welcomed a range of levels (including people who had never kayaked). Paddled 3km down the coastline and going inside the caves / rock formations, then stopped off at a beach only accessible by the water for a swim and a drink. Would highly recommend

Was amazing!! Good experience, the guide is awesome, stop and wait for everybody go together and safe! We have enough time at benagil cave...
