You'll start the experience where the public story of Tito ended, by his grave. It looks like the grave of Franklin D. Roosevelt, following Tito's wish. How come a communist leader wanted his grave to look like US President's? Well, that's one of the intricacies you'll discover on the tour.
You'll see the unique memorabilia of the cult the Yugoslav people made around Tito and witness how his birthday was celebrated as a national holiday for 40 years, in front of 50,000 people on a football stadium. You'll find out about his strong relationships with dignitaries and celebrities of 20th century. The world leaders, the royalty, the celebrities - Tito was hosting and entertaining them, adding a strong those of personal charm. Quite unexpected from a communist leader, right?

At a homey restaurant owned by one Tito's chefs, you'll meet Tito's private persona. The place has been in business since the last days of communism. You'll taste two unique dishes that legendary Chef Mića invented for Tito. Aside from formal dinners, Tito indulged in simple food that reminded him of his homeland. You'll taste this comfort food in the setting perfect for hearing more about Tito's private persona and superhero's very human habits.

Belgrade Food Experience

After the historical immersion, you get to roll the sleeves and immerse yourself in the lovely art of cooking.
You'll learn to cook and decorate the famous Karađorđe steak. This is the recipe that led Chef Mića to Tito's auspices. Ever since, it's been one of the stars of Serbian cuisine, especially praised by meat lovers.
Your cooking drill will go all the way from softening the meat, to stuffing it with kaymak to rolling it, frying it and decorating it for its specific symbolic meaning!
We add some fresh salad and delicious oven baked potatoes and you have a complete meal.
The cooking class takes place at a comfortable kitchen inside a green garden of a private home of your host, who was born and raised in this quarter. The venue and the neighborhood breathe a homey feel to make you feel welcome to unwind and enjoy your meal.
