Delicious Chocolate Tour Barcelona

Added this to our mother/daughter spring break trip to Barcelona. It was a great way for us to explore the Gothic Quarter while learning a bit of history and enjoying yummy treats along the way. Carla was such a great guide - she has an amazing energy and enthusiasm! The tour was a small group (7 of us in total) making it a highly personal experience. My teen really enjoyed the experience. Would definitely recommend especially for dessert lovers!

such an amazing experience in barcelona! it is a must do, carla was the nicest and most personable teacher and host i have ever had!!! she was outstanding with her stories of all the city and little things that make barcelona great and explain the culture behind it! she has thought of everything from amazing recommendations to hand wipes! you do not want to miss this!

Did we taste a lot of chocolate? Absolutely! This tour exceeded our expectations, we tried new treats and opened our taste buds to new experiences. Carla also wove Barcelona history into the tour via stories about the shops we visited and curious facts about the city's Roman origins. From chocolatiers in business for over a hundred years to the yummy new ones in the neighborhood. Carla's care included taking the time to welcome and connect with each guest and was also inclusive of those of us with food sensitivities, I'm nut free and other guests were gluten free. We all had the same amount of tastings, all delicious indeed!

Carla does a wonderful job of guiding her guests through the chocolate of Barcelona! We ate so many delicious sweets, and a variety of it, including tasty oak roasted nuts! We ate so much good stuff, we had to take some to go! She has such a depth of knowledge about the topic and is so warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Carla has been a phenomenal, and in all honesty, going on the “Delicious Chocolate Tour” was probably one of the best experiences we’ve had in Barcelona. Why was it so good?
+ Carla is incredibly friendly, and from her interactions, it’s easy to see that she has a great heart and cares for people in the community.
+ She is incredibly knowledgeable about chocolate and the Gothic Quarter - she gave us a chocolatey historic tour of the gothic quarter which was awesome! It really helps immerse you in the culture of Barcelona!
+ She is known at the best chocolate shops in the city by name, so we were treated as VIPs in every store that we visited - it didn’t matter how busy they were.
+ The pacing of the tour was good, I don’t usually have a sweet tooth, and I felt it wasn’t too overwhelming for me!

If you’re wanting to try some amazing artisanal chocolate at historic places you wouldn’t otherwise think to visit - she is your girl! 👍🏼

A must do for chocolate fans while in Barcelona. Carla will introduce you to local artisan shops that will sate any chocolate lover. Carla shares historical references as you make your way through the tour stops. Definitely a fun and delicious way to spend some time in Barcelona!

Carla's tour is amazing! We had such a great time, we learned a lot and out lives became sweeter because of the delicious chocolate varieties she took us to taste. She was so detailed, included also historical details and took good care of us to understand the different flavours. We really appreciated that she took the tour even if it was just the 2 of us!

This was one of the highlights of my entire week in Barcelona! I'm so glad I signed up for this and got to meet other lovely people in the tour group. Carla is so bright and positive and fun to be around. Her energy and kindness made the entire tour so much more enjoyable.

We went to at least 6 spots, but maybe 8? I don't remember the details. We tried traditional Catalan desserts, pastries, churro y chocolate, and filled bonbons. My husband and I had a great time on the tour. We stopped several places that I'd probably pass by without a dedicated guide that knows the area. Such a great use of time and money. If you have a few hours and like delectable sweet treats, make sure to book with Carla :)

Carla's chocolate tour was a unic way to discover the old town and its hidden gems. She made us feel like friends with her individualised approach and personalizing our tastings. Everything was delicious and filled with interesting bits on Barcelona's history as well as its distinctive relationship with chocolate and pastries.

Carla is an amazing guide who has no problems adapting to the needs of her patrons. It is obvious that she has cultivated friendships with local purveyors over many years, and, as her guest, you will reap the benefits of these friendships. Carla not only brings you into these delightful 100+ year old businesses, but also gives a wonderful history lesson of the area and shows you things that you would never have noticed otherwise. The desserts are all phenomenal, and as others have mentioned, you will be extremely full at the end despite the relatively small portions at each shop. Also, don't be worried if you have any dietary restrictions, as Carla is more than willing to adapt the tour. In my case, my husband has Celiac disease, and she provided numerous homemade gluten free treats so he wouldn't be left out of any tasting; plus she is a pastry chef, so she knows her stuff! When (not if) I come back to Barcelona, I will 100% book another tour with Carla!

We all (13 of us from 9 yo to 75 yo) enjoyed our 4pm (till 7pm) Chocolate tour with Carla. Not only was it delicious but we also got to see a lot of Barcelona and learn its history. Carla is an animated guide who clearly loves what she does. With a large group she paid attention to individual needs (needing to rest, lactose intolerance, vegetarians) and made everyone feel included and ensure they were enjoying. You will be full by the end! Carla also does tapas and gastronomy tours which I’m sure she’d be excellent at. Thanks for an awesome afternoon in Barcelona!

A fantastic primer of not just the Chocolate scene but also the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. Carla was fun and engaging, sharing so much of the history of the area and it merchants. We thought the Churros was a great add in to the tour and seeing how cocoa is ground was very interesting. We would recommend the tour to others visiting the city and do it early in your stay.
