My family and I had an AMAZING time!! This was truly the best experience that we had during our time here in Barcelona. You will participate in the cooking by cutting up vegetables to put in the paella and in sangria. You will have a beautiful view and two beautiful hosts with a wealth of knowledge. For my daughter (grown) and myself, this was one of our favorite experiences while in Barcelona. This did not feel like an average cooking class! After much research and lots of reading reviews, we chose this class and went to the lovely home of Alfonso and Txema, who were generous and so genuine. They made us feel like old friends at an intimate dinner party. The paella, gazpacho, and sangria were truly outstanding, and the views of the sunset were spectacular from the rooftop deck. They left us with full recipes and as an extra bonus, gave us great restaurant recommendations for an upcoming trip we were taking (which we used and were not disappointed). We won’t forget this night and so thankful we got to have such a great evening with these 2 wonderful souls!

We had a lovely evening with Alfonso and Txema. It was especially nice to spend a little time learning new recipes in a beautiful home looking out over the marina. It was raining on our evening so we got a look at the rooftop terrace where class is usually held. Their large kitchen made a great substitute. We highly recommend this class, it was fun, informative and a memorable activity and you will definitely not go home hungry!!

An enjoyable evening with a delicious paella dinner and a welcoming host. Guests participated in preparing the paella and sangria ingredients and Alphonso did the cooking. We ate on Alphonso's deck as the sun was setting. What a beautiful view! After dinner, Alphonso served Catalan Cream for dessert. We received recipes by email the following day.

We had an unforgettable experience at the rooftop paella cooking class, starting with prep in a stunning condo overlooking the Port. As we sipped on Cava, Chef Alfonso introduced us to the steps behind making some of Spain's most iconic dishes: gazpacho, sangria, and of course, paella. Alfonso's warm and engaging personality made us feel welcomed, and his perfect description of each process made the experience both informative and fun. His assistant was equally friendly, adding to the overall warmth of the evening.

The cooking took place on a beautiful outdoor terrace surrounded by greenery, which created the perfect setting. Alfonso explained each step in detail while cooking the paella, making it easy to follow and appreciate the craft behind it. When it was time to enjoy the meal, we sat down for a delicious dinner filled with great conversation. Sharing this memorable evening with my wife made it truly special. I’ll never forget this amazing experience!

This was an awesome experience and very hands-on. Loved that we were invited to the home for the class which made it very personal. Definitely going to try this at home. A must-do if you want to learn to make your own.

This small group cooking class was exactly what we were looking for. We loved the hospitality of Alfonso and his partner in their cozy, chic rooftop apartment. It felt like we were there for a dinner party. He walked us through all the ingredients needed to make seafood paella, white wine sangria, gazpacho, and Catalan crème. We helped with the prep of the chopping ingredients and then watched Alfonso do his magic with the paella on the rooftop. It ended up just being us and another couple so super intimate and we even got to meet their pets after, a really friendly dog and parrot. I’d highly recommend this experience! If we return, we’d love to try their tapas class in the morning.

This was perfect. My mom and I went together. There was also two girlfriends that were there. It was a smaller intimate group which made it feel like you were just catching up with friends. Alfonso was such a fun and friendly host, felt like we had known him forever. The rooftop terrace was magical to say the least and the whole experience was simply perfect. I would totally recommend this!

Alfonso and his partner were fantastic hosts, the gazpacho, paella, and sangria were incredible, I would absolutely book with him again for their other tapas experience! He was a chef previously and it shows! We had a wonderful time eating on their rooftop terrace. Thank you so much! Salud!

We had a lovely evening with Alfonso & Txema for our Paella class. We enjoyed participating in making the ingredients and watching Alfonso cook the paella. We were greeted with a lovely glass of cava and made and enjoyed white sangria with our paella. The gazpacho was so delicious. And the red prawns and mussels were out of this world. Way better than any restaurant paella! The location is quite fun too, overlooking the port and a perfect sunset view. highly recommend!

We had a really great class and loved learning how to make not just paella but also sangria and gazpacho. Alfonso and Txema were wonderful and generous hosts. It was so nice to come in from a super sweaty August day to their inviting apartment and some cold beverages to get started. They were super gracious and patient with our elementary age kids as well, which we definitely appreciated.

The food was amazing !! and the experience was fun and educational. The hosts were lovely people and the views are astounding!

As a professional chef that has taught cooking classes for over twenty years, a bucket list item was learning to make a true paella while in Barcelona. Thankfully, I discovered chef Allfonso on Viator. This is not a “school” but an opportunity to learn to cook in his home, beautifully situated overlooking the yacht marina. He and his partner create an environment where you feel like guests that get put to work in the most enjoyable way. While enjoying Cava, we reviewed what we would be making, the ingredients and then got to work. Our menu included gazpacho (don’t kid yourselves, as simple as it is, it is an art), paella with calamari, shrimp and mussels, and a white sangria. All of it was hands on and absolutely delicious. Dessert was made ahead, which given it was creme Catalan (similar to a creme brûlée), it needed the chilling time. All of this was enjoyed on the private rooftop garden of his building with panoramic views.

Hands down a perfect experience that would rival and exceed any professional school with the elements taught, then layered with the personal touch that only comes from someone’s home and heart.
