Local Cooking Class in San Sebastian

Amazing experience with a family. Learned history culture AND cooking from Patricia. Good humor and the kids had a blast engaging with him. Also gave recipes and recommendations for the rest of our stay. Food was delish and a fine lunch with local wine.

This is more than a cooking class it is opportunity to hear, see and feel the passion of the Basque Country and its food culture. The chef's leading the experience have enthusiasm and energy that penetrates the group and brings this experience to life. I learnt so much not just about Basque cooking but cooking basics, I will never make salad, slice onions or cook steak the same again. Would do it again in a heart beat. Worth every cent.

What a great way to spend the day! We felt like we were invited into the chef’s home with family by the end of the class. Patricio & Miguel gave an entertaining & informative culinary class filled with tips from the masters while infusing their culture throughout the conversation. Everyone participated & no one left hungry. The best part was having the class spread out over a few hours so everyone could relax, engage in good conversation, & enjoy the fruits of our labors. Earra!

It was wonderful to learn how to cook traditional Basque dishes. And then eat them. I was so full when I left that I didn’t eat any dinner.

Then, when it came time to attend our actual class....Patricio was so so friendly and we felt comfortable immediately. We visited the market, met the cheese makers, meat and olive experts. We were given yummy samples of the amazing foods of the region.

I was the only female in the class and was treated like a queen as we all learned how to prepare Basque cuisine. Now, we're back in Michigan and can't wait to visit again. Thank you MIMO!!!! Keep doing what you're doing!!

Amazing cooking class. Chef was informative and supportive. Let the students do a lot of the work. We made foods we never would have attempted, like black ink squid….we even learned to clean the squid. The support team with him were friendly and helpful. A great experience and if I ever go back to San Sebastián, I would take take a different class from MIMO!

We have done several shopping and cooking experiences in Europe. Mimo is one of the best we have experienced. There were only three of us in the class so the experience was very personal.
Chef Mickel guided us through shopping for cheese and seafood at the local market. What a pleasure.
Back at the kitchen he supervised us, as well as demonstrating techniques, in cooking several seafood courses. Outstanding all around.
The courses, selected wines with each course and the cheese course that ended the meal were excellent. Also none of the preps were so difficult they could not be done at home.

Patricio was great! We had the best time. Booked it on a whim and everyone in the place was so welcoming and warm. Just my husband and I in the class and Patricio felt like an old friend by the time we left. 10/10 would recommend.

Excellent way to spend a day with a proper chef and foodies. Miguel was a fun and supportive teacher and the classroom is well equipped. Can’t wait to try the recipes at home.

I spent a whole week taking cooking classes at Mimo this summer, a different theme each day. These were the BEST I've ever taken in my life! All hands on, professional work space and delivery of "lesson" as well as fun and super knowledgable chefs. The table was set usually twice each day for us to pause and eat what we had prepared with a little wine and just hang out with others in the class. Wonderful chance to meet people from all over the world!

Thank you Patricio for an amazing day. The amount of food we cooked was unbelievable. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional. Both my husband and I leaned new tricks to use in the kitchen. Patricio is so knowledgeable and absolutely charming. The class is easy to follow and not only will you learn to make some amazing food, you will learn so
much about the food of the region and
how cooking temperatures and taking your time is the key. I am anxious to cook these wonderfully dishes for family and friend back home.
We highly recommend booking the class. Its worth every penny. You will not be disappointed. Also, don’t book this class if you have dinner plans. You will eat so much during your 5 hour class you will not be able to eat again for days

If you’re tired of the usual sightseeing trips and want to learn something you’ll use every day then this comes up trumps. And you get to eat what you’ve learned! A lovely relaxed day, having fun, making and eating good food with good wines. What more would you want!

What a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the taste of Basque culture and tradition. We had a wonderful, informative and interesting time cooking with Chef Mikel. We loved buying our products at the local market then spending the day preparing our meal. Not only did we learn a lot about the Basque approach to food, we exited with new cooking tips and techniques. This class was a hands-on working session....which was the perfect way to spend the day. Ah yes....and the meal was amazing, traditional plates, but all with an added modern twist.
