Stockholm Like a Local: Customized Private Tour

Monika was a wonderful guide and we would highly recommend her. Her perspective as a non-native was enlightening.

Okay honestly, lokafy was really helpful when I raised a complain.

However, it assumed that we as travellers have to stop the tour when we are unhappy with it. This however was not stated anywhere and it is not in our culture to stop someone abruptly and tell them the tour was trash. Please respect our culture as well.

So I took a tour in Stockholm and this unprofessional “local” who claimed he stayed in Stockholm for 5 years. The truth was, he was in and out of Stockholm and he’s from Ecuador. I think I heard more about Ecuador than Stockholm seriously 🙄

In the entire trip, he kept commenting how expensive everything is in Stockholm and when I bought bubble tea, he was like omg, this was so expensive. Excuse me, what business is it of yours on how I spend my money and how I live my life? Spending habits are different everywhere so please respect that. He also lectured me on how cashless is bad, how China is crazy. Is china’s politics part of our tour? I’m in Sweden, not China. Also, he discriminated against females by saying that, (oh how shameful it was - his expression) it is so expensive being a woman. Hello?! Is your mom not a woman? What is wrong with pampering yourself with a hairdo, nails and spa? And when I commented eating bread and butter every meal was so unhealthy, he said you only live once. Isn’t that contradictory? One man’s poison is another man’s food. He has no respect whatsoever for females nor the cultures of others and he told me he’s white and we are Asians. Oh, so Asians do not deserve the same respect? Then you don’t need our tourist money either, go back to your own country 😡

He brought me around Stockholm without telling me where was where just telling me this was the old town, and that was a different island. Worst still, he was always on his phone and I had to wait for him to lunch when he found my choice at the food market too expensive and he ate the bread that was provided to me. It’s just so disgusting. It’s so obvious that he’s moonlighting to earn money.

We paid for a private tour and it was not cheap and this was the service we got. I HEREBY WARN EVERYONE ABOUT LOKAFY AND THIS PARTICULAR GUIDE.

Lokafy takes people as locals as long as they stay in that city for 2 years which doesn’t make sense to me. How will you know every nook and cranny when you only stay there for 2 years. I learnt nothing about Stockholm today and it totally just spoiled my entire tour in Stockholm and I’m taking this is to social media because the guide denied everything and lokafy only refunded 1/3 of the amount.

Never book with them unless you want a garbage guide and a trash tour by people who are not profesional guides nor native. BEWARE. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!

Meliha was knowledgeable and friendly. We did a lot of walking and talking. She told us about her experience as a young professional in Stockholm. She took us to a hill overlooking the city. (Sodermalm). We got a little turned around on the way back so she walked us over to Old Town. We ended up spending more than 2 hours together.

This was so amazing trip and I had a wonderful time. The tour guide Meliha was so nice and friendly. She managed to customise the tour exactly as per my request. I really enjoyed the walk around the city.

Should have little bit knowledge about Stockholm. There was absolute 0 info on local things or history. Just a help to navigate around and catch train.

Our guide Monika was great . She had lots of local knowledge which we really enjoyed . She understood our brief and what we wanted to do on trip which was great and followed up after tour with some of her recommendations in the city

Our tour guide was 40 minutes late. It was scheduled for a six hour tour. About 45 minutes into the tour our guide said he wasn’t feeling well and ended the tour. He appeared to leave the area but we remained where we were not knowing what to do and he reappeared and seemed to be going on about his day. He did offer to reschedule another day but we couldn’t as our stay in the city is short and we had other commitments. We had asked for a general overview of the city when booking. For the few minutes our guide was with us he rushed along and was not overly communicative. It was very awkward. I have taken many tours of cities I’ve visited and we have never had such a disappointing experience. Perhaps he was feeling very sick. I would have understood had he cancelled beforehand so we could have made other arrangements. The fact that he seemed to be feeling fine as soon as he left us tho makes me wonder….he appeared to see us still standing around and made sure to avoid us.

It is great to learn some inside information about Stockholm and see some hidden beautiful places.

Our guide Monica met us at our downtown hotel and walked us through the old town, city hall and other scenic and historical districts. Her commentary was enlightening and informative. She offered to extend our tour beyond the scheduled 4 hours, but we had other early evening plans and bid her farewell. There are hills, bridges, alleys and parks on this tour so be well rested before you take it on.

Khaled was excellent! Super knowledgeable and very friendly. I chose a three hour tour and was able to get a very good taste of Stockholm in a short amount of time. Khaled went above and beyond...highly recommend him!
