The Nordic Food Walk Stockholm

We’ve gone on many food tours and this one was ok. The servings were light in comparison to other tours we’ve been on and generally underwhelming. Our guide, while knowledgeable, was very hard to hear. Overall, a mediocre experience.

Our group of 5 had an amazing time with "Jim," our guide for this Nordic Food Tour. We experienced a wonderful variety of tastings from meats (reindeer, elk, fish, and bear) to sweets. Jim has a depth of knowledge about Scandinavia and Stockholm and the culture and history as well as a larger context from his experiences. (By the way, don't be swayed by a couple of negative comments that questioned visiting some food malls. They are not like food courts in the US. They display many quality items and local vendors.). I loved how we ended this tour in a cozy cafe (it was a cold, rainy day) by candlelight, enjoying what the locals call "fika," a traditional afternoon break with coffee and pastries. It was a nice personal touch! My group would highly recommend this tour and this tour guide!

We had a great tour with Cotton through a couple of places in Saluhal, another food hall and finally to a coffee shop for 'fika'in Gamla Stan.
Cotton was great - friendly and knowledgeable about the food we tasted but also about local history as we walked through the city.
Our advice....be a bit wary when it comes to the liquorice! We will say no more!
Definitely a great choice at the start of a break because we will be going back to at least one of the places we visited.

This was a fantastic experience. I loved every single second of this experience. Our guide Demitrius (sorry if I have spelt this name wrong) was informative and highly entertaining. His knowledge about Sweden and Swedish food was exceptionally good. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Really interesting and well thought through tour. A great way to see the city and sample local food, you see lots of the city.

My husband and I were on this tour and Kevin was our guide. If I could give him 6 stars I would! He was excellent! We went to the Vasa Museum and he told us the entire story about the viking ship. We learned about the courtyard in Old Town Stockholm and he told us the history of that particular spot. He was extremely informed about everything Stockholm and we thoroughly enjoyed all we learned as we walked the streets of Old Town. He was personable as well as informed. I HIGHLY recommend to others!

Dimitrios was a wonderful guide. We really enjoyed the history lesson and all of the food we tried. We tried so many different foods, including several plates of multiple items. This is definitely a full meal experience over the course of the tour.

Not that great. The host lacked energy, it was hard to hear him and seemed that the stories did not go together. The food was average for the price. It was hard to eat such strong flavor food as breakfast. I expected more from this tour considering it was $100 per person.

Guide’s knowledge of the city & its culture was appreciated. Good tastes. Would have liked time to browse the food halls.

We can’t say enough about our guide Dimitri. He was informative, interesting, and skillfully introduced us to the food of Stockholm. We liked the establishments he chose to show us. We learned about the food and the culture of Stockholm. We thought the range of foods we tasted and the amount of food we tasted was perfect. We highly recommend this tour.

We had Matt as our tour guide and he was fantastic. He was engaging and told us great information about Sweden and it's culinary scene. He also provided excellent tips for sightseeing and other places to eat. If you are not afraid to try new foods and love seafood, this is a great tour!

Our guide was fun and the indoor market was amazing. So much to look at and he allowed us shopping time. Learning about the foods and different kinds of meat was very interesting.

Dimitrios was a wonderful person to guide us through the culinary tour. Using food history as a base, he introduced us to a variety of offerings. I would heartily recommend him, but you should be prepared to walk quite a bit (2 km).

Matt was superb!!! He was so welcoming and knowledgeable. Not only did he know all about Stockholm's history and food, but also had great recommendations. You get to try so many different traditional foods but burn off the calories while walking place to place. It is a far amount of walking but definitely worth it! Must be open to knee experiences…you will have bear, moose, reindeer, herring, licorice, etc. even though we were not fans of certain items going in we tried them all and honestly enjoyed them!! 5 out of 5 stars!!!
