Shared Chauffeured Punt Tour

We had a shared punt tour today. Sam was our tour guide and was excellent, lots of facts and history shared with us. Highly recommend this experience. Thank you Sam

Excellent experience with Noah as our chauffeur. We really enjoyed his commentary and he was able to answer all our questions.

We had a great time along the Cam in beautiful sunshine. We live locally but it’s still interesting to hear all about the history of the university and to take in all the architecture. Our guide, Ben R (I hope we got the initial right!) was knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend.

A really lovely way to see Cambridge! Our tour guide Alex Blake (hope I got the name right!) was so friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and giving us loads of great information about all the sights - would definately recommend!

Fantastic way to see Cambridge and the colleges. The Cam is a beautiful, tranquil river and we were lucky to have a sunny day for our tour. Our guide, Jasper, gave us lots of background about the colleges in a very witty and enjoyable way. The Cam was fairly crowded with punts - many were hired by customers who were chauffeuring themselves with pretty chaotic results. We were in awe of Jasper's deft handling of our punt amidst the chaos. The tour was about 45 minutes and we enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend this company and this chauffeur!

Fantastic experience! Jasper, our guide, was knowledgeable and funny. Cambridge is beautiful when seen from the river. We all loved the trip and would definitely book again.

Our tour guide was full of great information and told us he only just started (Benjie, I think he said). He did a fantastic job! We were so lucky we caught the hour where it didn't pour down on us.
This is a must do in Cambridge throughly enjoyed myself.

Very enjoyable experience. It’s the easiest and most efficient way to have a quick glance at the best view of Cambridge in less than one hour. We were there during a long weekend. There were many boats, and many tourists were punting by themselves. So there were quite many bumpings. However, nothing was a real concern, and my children had great fun.

My brother and I went on this tour on April 12. We were with a family of four so it wasn't too crowded. Our guide was Aaron, he was very friendly and provided many informations and anecdotes as we traveled along the backs of several colleges. We were lucky enough to have sun with us. I would definitely recommend it to discover Cambridge in a new way, very soothing and poetic.

Just had a wonderful afternoon punt in the sunshine this Good Friday. Our guide Zach navigated the busy Cam with ease and charm, answering our questions ad sharing stories. Would recommend!

On Friday 24th February we did the 11:15am shared punting tour with Oliver. We were with our son and his girlfriend and 2 other couples, the punt was comfortable and not overcrowded. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip which lasted just under 45 minutes. Our guide was a local resident rather than a student at the university, but was really knowledgeable, super fun, and happy to answer our questions. Would highly recommend as felt it was reasonably priced in comparison to other tours. Thank you 😊

Today, I had a reservation for three for a shared, chauffeured punting tour along the Cam River in Cambridge at 245 p.m. I called the company to say that we were going to be c 10 minutes regrettably. My older cousin has a vision impairment disability in one eye; we underestimated the time it would take to traverse Cambridge to arrive at punting launch site on time; and as it was a Saturday with the city centre teeming with crowds, she was unable with us to walk sufficiently fast to make up the time. At precisely 255 p.m., the company called and asked where we were, and I said i though we were indeed near but we needed a couple more minutes to arrive. The response I got was sorry, you will miss your boat. I acknowledge we were late, however, the response we got offered ZERO empathy, no room for accommodation, and no offer for a refund or credit for a future trip. Our pre-paid GBP55 was charged to our credit card (money thrown down the drain with no service received) and I am certain that given the booked schedule and high demand, the company was able to fill the boat with standby passengers and therefore earned twice the revenue at our expense. I have never, ever written a critical review of a service on a site like this, but I remain shocked and hard-done by the treatment received and feel the need to post this given our experience. The treatment we received is no way to run a business. Our daughter is a student at Cambridge, and we come often with friends with punting an occasional highlight of our visits. I will actively discourage others from using Traditional Punting Company. Scudamores it will be in the future, for sure.

Jacob was so lovely and it was really fun and informative too. We had a lovely family time on the river with him this afternoon.
