Amazing uk 🇬🇧 countryside day trip!
2025-05-05
It was our first time to the uk countryside and we picked to visit the beautiful Stratford upon Avon and the Cotswolds. The sights definitely did not disappoint. Our tour guide, Oliver was great and so was our driver Jag! Fantastic experience
Beautiful places, very rude guide
2025-05-04
We were a group of 12 friends. The places we visited are beautiful and we knew it was all going to be a bit rushed, but what we were not expecting was how rude Eileen, the guide, was going to be. She has very blunt manners, which she showed the minute we met her.
At the first stop, Anne Hathaway's cottage, we were told we had 25 minutes on site. But we were left waiting at the entrance for 15 minutes as they seemed to be sorting out something with the entrance tickets. We asked if we were going to have a few extra minutes to see the place as this was not our fault and Eileen answered in a very rude way that it was not possible. That it was not her fault we wanted to use the facilities (the bus had no toilet) and waste time (we were allowed to use the facilities WHILE they were sorting the issue and actually when we finished we still had to wait more time to go in the cottage). So it made no sense at all. A very polite man from the cottage came to apologise for keeping us waiting so much and I said we could definitely understand if they were having a problem but we expected to be treated kindly and with respect. We were given no explanation by Eileen or apology, of course.
All the people working at the Shakespeare birthtrust were amazing, super polite and knowledgeable and we loved visiting the school and the birthplace.
We then visited two towns in the costwolds which were nice but the whole trip there and back to London were clouded by the guide, who was out of touch with the passengers, talked non-stop looking at the front without even glancing to see if anyone was actually engaged with anything she was saying... Ì understand she probably knew a lot, but taking a look to see how people are responding to what you are saying and being able to adapt to the needs of your passengers are central, I believe, to the job of a guide.
The places are beautiful but the guide made the trip very unpleasant to us.

Trip to Stratford,...
2025-05-03
Trip to Stratford, bourton on sea and Bibury. Timing is terrible. Leave at 8:30. No stop for toilets till you get to Stratford 2 hours + out. Everything is in a hurry. Can't stop for anything. No lunch until stop in Burton after 2:00 pm. No indication of this in the description. Guide was terrible. Mumbled and when asked to repeat the name he went on and on about the name coming from old English or something. When we got to each stop, vague directions on where to go. "oh you'll figure it out"...
