Halifax & Peggys Cove & Coastal

Bruce -- a very well informed ad knowledgeable guide. He got water bottles with him for us and also the famous maple candy. We enjoyed the city tour and Peggy's cove and Bruce gave us all the historical info about the places we stopped by and passed by. I will recommend Bruce every time.

We did this as a shore excursion from our cruise ship. Bruce was absolutely terrific. He has a truly extraordinary knowledge of facts, dates and places, and shares sights and history in an interesting way. He is an excellent, safe driver. He provided a really memorable experience. There were four in our party and we fit comfortably in his mini-van and everyone had good views. He stops and gives good photo suggestions. I highly recommend Bruce for this tour.

The highlight was that we got safely back to our cruise ship. We thought that with 6 hours, we would be able to help decide our itinerary. No way! We drove up and down neighborhood streets in Halifax, giving us some interesting information, but Bruce also pointed out every "burning bush" plant between Halifax and Peggy's Cove.

We asked questions about real estate and business in Halifax, questions that have been asked on every tour I've ever been on, and be said, "I'm not the one to ask about those things." He had a specific dialogue that he couldn't change.

If you're a photographer, and have a strong stomach, this might be for you...he drove on almost every side street, showing photo ops, we got some great photos, but also, some of us had serious car sickness!

The hours trip from Halifax to Peggy's Cove took three hours!

I won't be using his services again!

We were so looking forward to our day in Halifax with Bruce, but due to Hurricane Fiona, we were unable to come in to Halifax to do the tour. Bruce did not offer ANY portion of the fully paid excursion to be refunded since it was not within their fully refundable time frame. So disappointing.

This tour was extremely informative, we were shown many different aspects of the city, very interesting, beautiful drive along the Coast. Fascinating history in Halifax that was unbeknown to us as Canadians ! Waterfront, Boardwalk, Peggy’s Cove, Titanic cemetery, gorgeous scenery. Relaxing and enjoyable, highly recommend this tour.

Bruce was a great tour guide. He was on time and was exactly where he said he would meet us when our ship docked. He showed us a map and explained where we would be going on our tour of Halifax and Peggy's Cove. He drove us all around Halifax and showed us many of the historical landmarks and let us take lots of photos. Peggy's Cove was a Beautiful Village with shops, food and lot of great photo opportunities. This was a Great Tour.

We elected not to take the ship tour. Instead we scheduled a private tour with Bruce Tours four just the 4 of us in our own vehicle. Bruce is a very interesting and different person. He is extremely knowledgeable. The bus drives straight through the city and onto Peggy's Cove. Bruce took us the scenic route and toured us through subdivisions and some great picture opportunities that you would never see on the bus tour. At first you may find Bruce a little unique with his dry sense of humor but it you are patient you will bet the best tour of Halifax and Peggy's Cove and get some wonderful pictures and have some laughs. Highly reccommended.

Great excursion, the best we have been on this trip. Bruce sgiwed us a lot more than we expected and was very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend him............

Bruce is a excellent guide. Knowledge of history was interesting and stop at awesome photo opportunities. We needed to return early but was still 5 hours so full must be at least 5 1/2. His van was nice and well maintained. Can’t name a favorite location they were all beautiful.

We loved our time with Bruce, who picked us up from the cruise ship dock and took us around to see the areas we wanted to see. He knows Nova Scotia like the back of his hand and gave us a great trip to Peggy's Cove, a highlight of our visit. It was perfect for our group of 5, and we enjoyed getting a local's input on his home turf. (I'm tardy for posting--although the date says June 2019, it was June 2018.)

Bruce Tours can't be beat! Bruce was our driver/guide and took us everywhere. I might add that he took us all over Halifax pointing out the things that were of great interest to me--like the Halifax Explosion, the marker for plane crash in Peggy's Coves and to the Titanic graves. He took us many places off the beaten path to take pictures and helped me position my camera perfectly. Even offered a charger when my phone battery started dying. Loved, loved this private tour. There is no comparison to a crowded bus tour and our private tour! Thank you again Bruce for a lovely day.

Bruce himself has been doing this small van tour since 2004. Max travelers of 6. Intimate, personalized, interactive, not canned, not just all around Halifax plus side roads to many small coves with amazing photo ops, and a lunch stop at the restaurant right near the Lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove. This is the best way to see it all in one day! Don’t miss it but be sure to book ahead!!

We got way more than expected with this tour. Bruce picked us up at our hotel exactly on time, and took us all over Halifax to various historical landmarks, but also some local interesting views and buildings. He made frequent stops so we could take pictures, and coached us on the best angles to get great photos. We then visited lots of little coastal villages before ending up in Peggy's Cove.
He kept a list of all the places we visited and photographed, so that at the end of the tour we would be able to remember all of the pictures we took (and there were lots!).

The highlight of our day in Halifax was seeing the Maude Lewis exhibit in Halifax but enjoyed the drive to a Peggy’s Cove. Enjoyed the citadel with the views of the city

We booked Bruce's Tours for our group of 5 people in April 2019. We arrived by cruise ship and although there was a last minute change of where we were supposed to dock due to construction, Bruce gave us easy instructions to take the shuttle provided and he would meet us at the drop off point, which he did, right on time as planned. His van seats 6 tourists, however it is better suited for 5 people as to give more room in the back seat row. Bruce was a great tour host and provided insights and history of the Halifax area. He was insistent that we got the best photo shots possible. We toured the beautiful Peggy's Cove area and we were blessed with good weather, but quite windy. We toured the Halifax area in the afternoon so as to get back to the ship on time, no problem there. On our previous visit to Halifax in 2015 we took the HOHO bus as we were also on a cruise. I must say Bruce's Tours was much better than the HOHO as we were able to see much more, including residential neighborhoods, the Titanic cemetery ( up close with better history presentation) etc.
Also, the cost of Bruce's tour was very competitive in our opinion. We would use his company again when visiting the Halifax area.
