Historic Halifax by Foot

My guide was Carmen and she had the most delightful Swiss accent!! She was very knowledgeable about the area we toured. I was lucky enough to have her all to myself as the two others who had booked were no shows. She was very easy to converse with and I felt really comfortable asking her questions.
I would definitely recommend a guided walking tour as you have so much time to see everything around you...

This walking tour was a great way to see some highlights of Halifax. Our tour guide, Carmen, did a great job telling us about the history and area. We especially enjoyed spending some time at the Public Garden and the cannon firing at the Citadel. There were some hills to navigate but the pace was good. Wear comfortable shoes. The tour ends at the boardwalk near the Maritime Museum. After the tour, we had plenty of time to explore the museum, meander back to our cruise ship along the boardwalk, and try a lobster roll.

I was sick on the day of our booked walking tour. The company has been very accommodating. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour company in Halifax, NS.

Our friend booked a walking tour of Halifax at short notice for our group. On the designated day the guide did not show up. The manager, Evelyn, tried to contact him but was unable to do so. Well, things like that can happen.
The reason for giving 4 stars is that the manager tried to help, and when that was not possible, immediately offered to refund our payment. We got our money back.
So thank you for the good customer service. Will try again next time.

Ian did a marvelous job of telling us history and events and about notable buildings. The walk moved along and since we had never visited Halifax before we were very thankful we did this tour.

We really enjoyed our Halifax walking tour. We had spectacular weather and the route, getting up the hill in the gentlest way possible, was clever. I would have liked more details, fun facts, etc. but that said, Carmen was very personable, with a nice clear voice. I'm glad we did Pier 21 and the Maritime Museum the day before so that we actually knew more about some of the things she didn't have time to go into on the tour. All in all though, a good overview of the city.

Walk doable. History interesting. Carmen informative. Convenient starting from cruise ship. Would recommend.

Our tour guide was Ian, an historian by profession and an historical tour guide by avocation. From start to finish he provided a thorough tour of Halifax in a very personable manner. The walk can be a bit long for some older people, but we meandered uphill to the Citadel in such a way as to reduce the steepness of the climb.

Really loved the knowledge of the tour guide and ease of the tour. Lots of knowledge. Worth every penny!

Fun and informative walk through downtown Halifax. Knowledgeable guide who kept things light and entertaining. Covered a lot of ground but the pace was very comfortable.

Our guide Glenn was terrific. He is so knowledgeable about the city and clearly loves it! His enthusiasm was amazing. We loved the tour.

The whole walk was memorable and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We had a gentle walk through historic Halifax and a slow climb to the Centinal and back to the start

Glenn was full of knowledge about Halifax and brought us to all the important sights while walking at a pleasant pace. We had a good time and enjoyed the tour!

Historic Halifax by Foot was an excellent walking tour! Carmen was our guide and she was wonderful!! She was warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! The tour was 2 1/2 hours long at a comfortable pace. We had a break for washrooms, a coffee, and a stroll around the Public Gardens. The beautiful day and only having 4 people on the tour just added to an excellent experience with Carmen!!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and we were with a very small group. Went to interesting sites and spent the right amount of time at each site.
