JFarwell Best of Halifax Harbour Tour

A little hard to find the shed on the waterfront but someone pointed it out to me. The Captain and first mate were amazing. The day was beautiful the sailing was so fun - I sat on the bow and “pancaked” when tacking. It was a great experience. Only wish it was longer!

Fantastic experience! If you are looking for a boat tour of the Halifax harbor area, look no further. This is the one you want. Beautiful 45 foot sailboat with comfortable seating, room to stretch out on the bow, and two inside bathrooms. Our captain Caleigh and deckhand Lillian were friendly, fun, professional, and experienced. They answered all of my technical questions about sailing and they were patient, gracious and kind with my three daughters. We took our daughters ages (11, 9, and 7) and 2 senior citizen grandparents: Everyone had a great time. One of the grandparents has arthritis and was worried about difficulty getting into the boat but she ended up having no problem at all. Highly recommend this tour. 100% would do this trip again. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Halifax. Thank you, Caleigh and Lillian! You are the best!

It was a wonderful family experience. We had great weather, blue skies and blue water and it was warm enough to sit on the front deck. The seating was comfortable, the captain and staff were very friendly and provided great service. We anchored near Wreck Cove on McNab’s Island. My sister and I, visited the Fort on the island and she had a swim. We returned to the boat where we enjoyed a BBQ and refreshments. We enjoyed looking at the sails as we headed back. Totally awesome!

We had a great experience even though it was foggy. The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a nice relaxing trip for our family.

Loved the small group setting!! Such a great way to see the Harbour with out feeling 'touristy'. Also great if you or your kids want a little taste of sailing. Everyone who wanted to had a chance to take the helm and/or help with the sheets (aka ropes).

IMO this is the best kept secret around!

The interactive sailing experience was amazing. I highly recommended spending the little extra money on a sail, rather than the Hopper tour.

All the staff are professional and warm! And the sailing itself was fun. Definitely recommend this experience to single travelers or family.

This is a must do when you are in Halifax . It was the highlight of our trip. The crew were so kind and patient with the children. They were attentive and made sure everyone was included. My son had the time of his life helping sail the boat. The captain took extra time to spend with him. I loved how the crew brought the adults their drink as were were enjoying the Deck. The boat was very clean and organized. Loved hearing all the stories of the crew too

Our captain, Brandon, and first mate, Frankie, we’re very friendly and fun! Our party of 6 had a wonderful time learning about the sailboat, how to sail, and the waters around Halifax! Thank you for providing this enjoyable opportunity for our one day in Halifax.

So glad we booked this excursion when we visited Halifax, N.S. during our cruise on Adventure of Seas! Brandon, the captain, and Frankie were not only professional and friendly, but were fun and we all had a great time! Learning about the sails and boat were so interesting— participation in raising and lowering totally up to you! Views of Halifax were gorgeous and we even saw a seal playing in the Harbor!!

Our whole family enjoyed the Learning to Sail Experience with JFarwell. Our kids (6, 12, 15) loved being able to participate to the sailing. They were even able to drive the 42 foot long sail boat. The crew was very nice and welcoming.

We had a very lovely sail. The boat was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. My only “criticism” is that I think it’s misleading to call it a “learning to sail” experience. I was hoping for a little more information and possibly hands on experience. Really all that was offered was a chance to pull some ropes.

We took our two teenagers on the Learn to Sail in Halifax Harbour with Captain Ang. It was a highlight of our trip! The crew taught us some basic sailing tips and let the kids help jib and steer the boat. The lovely selection of local wine was chilled to perfection and made the day very special! Thanks to Capt Ang and crew!

Amazing experience. Was not the perfect day but the experience on the boat made it worth it. The crew is super friendly and easy. Boat was amazing. Great choices of drinks on the board. Would definitely recommend it to anyone .

Sailing was an enjoyable experience, it qas very relaxing and refreshing. Brandon and Andrew were great and very engaging, talking about how sailing works and ensuring that we were having a good time. I’d recommend going on the front deck of the boat to catch some sun and stunning views! :)
