Xochimilco, Coyoacán & Frida Kahlo Museum

The tour is a 10/10. We visited multiple beautiful places, and our tour guide Eleazar was knowledgeable and very nice :)

The trip is good value and well worth the day spent visiting all the places on the tour. We had Iliazar, Ruben and Manuel in a team enabling the tour.
The guides were proud Mexicans who were only too pleased to share their knowledge and experience.
The pace of the tour was relaxed yet well paced allowing ample time to see each of the places. Don’t forget to include tickets to the Freida Kahlo museum. Worth the extra experience. Tip: you will need to pay 30 pesos to the museum in order to allow you to take pictures inside the museum.
Great day of delights and joy on this cultural experience everyone visiting Mexico City should try and attend.

Well organized tour. Ruben was great for the English speaking group! Food not included and lunch buffet was affordable. Could have included more time to shop local markets.

My husband and I took this tour with three of our friends and had a great time! This was one of our favorite days in Mexico City. The bus was comfortable, and the trajineras in Xochimilco were amazing. We loved the Frida Kahlo museum and the 1.5 hours we got to spend exploring Coyoacán.

The only downside was that we had a “Karen” and “Kevin” in our group who were upset about the stop at the silver shop, they were furious at how much time we spent in traffic, they got super upset about a little accident that the bus driver had on a narrow road (he accidentally bumped a car mirror), and they went on to verbally abuse our tour guide and bus driver. Listen, mistakes happen and no one can control the traffic in a gigantic city like Mexico City. If you’re one of the folks like Karen and Kevin, please feel free to book your travel separately, and don’t bring your negative energy to a bus full of people trying to enjoy themselves.

Notes: Read the reviews (as we did) before joining this tour. Because of this, we knew that there would be a lot of sitting on the bus: from waiting at the two, different pick-up spots to sitting in Mexico City traffic. This is why the tour states 7–10 hours because no one can control the traffic. You’re also going to make a couple of shopping stops.

This was such a fun day. So many beautiful and colorful spots and our host was fantastic. This was such an easy way to see Casa Azul and Xochimilco without dealing directly with traffic.

AVOID THIS TOUR ! Take a subway and buy your own ticket to the museum. The tour is called Xochimilco, Coyoacán and Frida Kahlo Museum Tour BUT I didn't realize that while booking this tour, I had to check a box that said I wanted tickets for the museum!!! I found out an hour before the visit time that VIATOR didn't have tickets for my family. We were not the only ones on the bus to realize that. Everyone who had booked via VIATOR didn't have tickets. We all thought that we were purchasing tickets if the name of the tour includes the MUSEUM TOUR!!
PLUS: THIS WAS A DAY TO HELL!! Here is the message I sent to Viator, the third party I used to book this tour:
"Hi Im on the tour and this is not at all what I was expecting!!! It is nearly noon and we were at the bus pick up point before 8am! We left late. We were dropped at a store with no interest just to make sure tourists would spend their money and we wasted a lot of time AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY! This was NOT part of the program I paid for! The bus driver is coming from Yucatan and doesn't seem to know his way around. He had an accident with a car and we had to waste more time for them to sort out the issue. We are hopping on the boat only now! It is utterly disappointing. We have 4 hours left before the museum and we wasted 4 hours. If we had left on time and straight to the boat we would have had more time for the program I paid for!"
THEY CANCELLED LUNCH because at 2pm we were still in traffic. They decided to drop us in Coyoacan at 3pm!!!!! Remember the departure time was at 7:50am!!! We ended up buying some street food. I was able to find a ticket to the museum for my husband just by asking in the line if someone had an extra ticket! That was pure luck! Only my husband was able to make it. My kids and I stayed in the neighborhood and we took the subway to come back to our hotel. Of course I requested a refund as did many of us.. and of course they said they didn't do anything wrong! So here it is ... this tour is really not worth it!! It is super well advertised but if you read this, I hope you will do something else of your day of just go but on your own!!!

Our guide, Lily, did not care about my boyfriend and me. I felt discriminated when she did not want to talk to me. It was written on her face that she did not like me, so the tour was not enjoyable. So we did not stay till the end. After all, for my “thank you, and have a good day,” she did not reply anything—so rude, 0 customer service.

Do not under any circumstances, book a tour with this company. It is the most expensive tour advertised and it’s no way worth it. Not only that, but at the time I booked and paid for the tour the company knew there was only one ticket available to the Frida Kahlo Museum, and they sold me the tour anyway. a total cost was US$209. The company was late, picking us up from the fiesta Americana location, we were tacked onto the end of another tour, and we were forced to sit in the front seat of the van, the center seat, having no proper seatbelt. When I asked for a refund of half the cost approximately US$100, I was offered a $15 credit, which did not even cover the cost of a ticket to the museum. I’ve seen comments similar to mine, so take heed, and do not do business with this company, InterLiv.

We had a great day but of course the first stop was at a silver tourist shop. Then we went to the boats. Total tourist trap. 1 hour on boat, probably moved 1km max but was sold everything. Was fun because of the people on our boat but was totally a waste of time. The rest of the tour was ok. We ended up ditching the bus after the frida museum as we wanted to stay longer in the pretty town. Would have been nice to go to the town / museum first and had longer time there and the boats in the afternoon.

Lili and Mario were amazing! Both have great knowledge about the tour attractions, bus was comfortable and the time on each tour station was adequate. Recommended:)

What an amazing tour! We saw the whole city! They showed us things and places we never would’ve found on our own! Lily and Mario were incredible guides!

Lily and Mario did a good job and we learned a lot on the tour. Lunch was great and we were always on time for our visits. My one suggestion is to do the Frida Kahlo Museum at the beginning of the tour rather than the end. Providing water would also be a nice touch.
