Private Chica SAILING Adventure Puerto Vallarta ALL INCLUSIVE

We booked through boatsetter.com and there were a few aspects of this boat trip that were frustrating and made it really not worth the cost.

The first being that we booked a 5 hour boat trip and within the first ten minutes of the trip we were parked in a bay very close to the marina to swim. This was nice for an hour but after a while we asked the captain if we could continue moving and they were very reluctant and told us anywhere else we went would look exactly the same. I’m not sure if this is common for your trips but it seems really weird to park for 5 hours so close to the marina when it’s advertised as an adventure exploring the Puerto Vallarta coastline.

The second issue was that this was advertised as a sail boat / sailing trip. The sails were not used once. We asked the captain if we could do some sailing and we were told conflicting excuses - first that there was not enough wind and then that there was too much wind and we would capsize. It was a really pleasant day with a normal breeze and plenty of other sail boats were on the water that didn’t have any issues. It seemed to us that the captains just didn’t want to get the sails out.

Lastly, there was a photographer on board which was not in the advertised listing for this boat trip. The photographer was really intrusive and didn’t make a pleasant experience - kept interrupting to take photos and asking us to pose. When a few of the members of our party stated they didn’t want a photo in the moment he was really insistent and kept holding his camera up. It made everyone unable to relax knowing every moment was being captured. To make matters a whole lot worse we learned at the end of our trip that the liability waiver we were made to sign in the beginning (which we were told was for our safety onboard) stated in the fine print that the company can use those photos of us as they please on all platforms for promotional use and that they can edit the photos of us to their liking. This again is super weird and really should be stated more clearly. Our group does not give permission for the company to use any photos of us anywhere.

The boat does provide an extensive open bar so if you’re looking for a day to get wasted on a boat and don’t care about the trip itself or where you are anchored then maybe this is for you. Overall our trip was kind of ruined by the things stated above.

Gonzalo, Benji and crew were just great. If you want to really sail, with a rail in the water, they’re happy to do it. If you want to try your hand at the helm, they’re happy to let you try, supervised of course. If you want a more relaxed sail, no problem. The food, toys, beverages, all there for you and high quality. The boat itself has been around a bit but is solid; performed just great in 15 knots of breeze.

I went with a group of ten friends and we had the best time! Amazing staff who love their jobs! Drinks and food were great. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting!

Wow! What an incredible time we had on this sailing adventure! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel comfortable and happy! The attention to service was incredible! The captain, Pepe, was so skilled, kind, and informative, that I not only had an amazing time, I learned so much about sailing. 10/10 would recommend this tour and would do it again if I were back in the PV area! Rented Chica Locca 3 water slide trimaran for a private party. 5-hour tour to Los Arcos including snorkeling and other water sports. Boat and crew were amazing. Communication with the company was great. This was by far the best part of our trip to Sayulita. Highly recommend. Do yourself a favor and book them for a private party/special occasion. Thank you!!

We had a group of about 30 the day after my wedding. Not gonna lie, half of us were dead upon entering the boat. About an hour into our excursion, the crew had us back to life and back to partying. The service was IMPECCABLE. Everyone was so attentive to your needs. The drinks were quick & yummy and the food was delicious. I swear every time you turned around, someone was offering you something to drink or eat. You never went without!!!
We also chose the add on of the photo, video, & drone and HIGHLY recommend doing so. The pictures came out fabulous and everyone was able to have fun without having to worry about taking photos on their phones.
The staff had such fun and nice personalities and it was almost as if we had known them our entire lives.
Next time I’m back in Sayulita, Chica Locca it is

The BEST part of our Sayulita bachelorette party of 9 women. The crew was so professional and friendly - with a smile always on their faces. They sure kept the drinks coming (they even paddle boarded us drinks on the beach!). The food was delicious! The boat was spacious, very clean, and came with a big and loud bluetooth speaker for tunes, Thank you Pepe, Lucas, and Cynthia!

This tour is a must! We had 15 of us we had endless drinks! They even brought them out when we were on the tube and wet mat!. The tacos were great! The massages were the best! we saw a whale and a dolphin! It was a blast! Hightlight of our trip! Must do this when in puerta vallarta. Music was awesome! The crew were so helpful. Snorkelled and got alot of water time on tube and wet mat.

I truly cannot speak more highly of this experience. I went with a group of friends one Saturday and we loved it so much, we booked another trip for the following weekend as well. Not only is the crew absolutely incredible and so much fun but the boat is absolute perfection. There is plenty of space to lounge, in and out of the sun, and all of the equipment they have on board really provides the perfect experience wherever the bay takes you. It was such a wonderful combination of relaxation, learning about the area and of course lots of delicious drinks along the way. Over the course of the 2 weekends, we saw 3 whales, tons of dolphins, a mantaray with a 10 foot wingspan and almost caught a massive marlin. An experience I will remember for a lifetime.

Gil and his crew create a top notch sailing experience. A group of 11 of us went sailing in October and had a blast. I was looking at a few different charters and decided to go with Chica Locca because they handle the whole experience - I didn't have to think about anything. They took us to and from Sayulita, included unlimited food and drinks, the boat is kitted with toys like kayaks/floats/paddle boards, etc.

I love how much seating they have made on the boat. We could lay out in far more areas than any of the other charters I looked at. Also, the crew is AMAZING. Gil has really put together an incredible team. They are fun, exceptionally helpful and welcoming, and keep the drinks flowing =)

Everyone loved the experience and I highly recommend booking your next charter with Gil and Chica Locca.

From the moment we boarded the Chica Locca, we were treated like they'd been waiting for us all our lives! We were totally pampered and laughed the day away. What a delightful bunch the crew are! Breakfast, lunch, snacks and all the drinks anyone could ask for......and yes, MORE! They can't do enough to make your day perfect. Living here in La Cruz, you can be certain that I'll be telling every newcomer what they MUST do! Will also be taking all my guests in the future. You totally rock!

This was an amazing experience for my friends and family! I was celebrating my 40th birthday and booked this trip just wanting to be on the water for a day and see some sights. The trip and crew was absolutely amazing! Thank you Cesar, Cookie Monster, Christian, Miguelita, and Josh #2. They made our day so special and we will be seeing them again next time we are in town!

We had a fabulous trip to Yelapa. The crew was fabulous-they met our every need. Mauricio was knowledgeable about the area. We did several activities (snorkeling, paddle-boarding). It was super fun. Highly recommend. Only thing to keep in mind is that the marina for this trip is in La Cruz, which is a $20 cab ride from PV.

What an absolutely FANTASTIC trip! We booked Chica Locca for a private all day sailing cruise around the Bay of Banderas and over to Yelapa. There were 12 of us in total and from the moment we got on board we knew we had made the right decision. The crew was fantastic. The drinks were plentiful and frequently offered. The boat was AWESOME! Plentiful places to sit throughout the boat and more than enough shade! The Bay was outstanding and everything had been arranged for our transfer from the boat to Yelapa beach which was so much fun! As an added bonus, two photographers joined the tour (which I didn't even realize was included) that took great pictures of our entire crew. That was such a nice feature and the photos came out great! We really can't say enough good things. Thanks Gil and the entire Chica Locca team!!!!

The crew is wonderful and the boat ride on the catamaran is scenic and pleasant. We didn't actually sail, but motored for the trip to Yelapa. I would have preferred to sail, but that wasn't a big issue.
My key point is that I would not recommend Yelapa as a destination. It is a noisy beach crowded with wall to wall chairs. The "lunch" included on our tour consisted of fajitas at a restaurant that was mediocre. Captain Gil and his crew should select an alternative destination consisting of a quiet cove in a natural surrounding where perhaps they could serve sandwiches. Yelapa is antithetical to the "natural experience" that many boat riders, such as us, would desire.
