El Cielo Reef Snorkeling tour by Catamaran

We had a great day! The staff was very attentive and made sure everyone was okay and having a great time. They even had a photographer who took pictures of all families on the boat as well as during the various activities.

We enjoyed the variety of snorkeling experiences that we had on this trip: reef snorkeling where we saw all kinds of tropical fish, including a barracuda, lobsters and sea turtles. We swam to "the wall" - the edge of one of the reefs where the bottom of the sea disappeared some 4000 feet below us. Not to worry though, we were all equipped with orange vests to keep us afloat at all times.

After the reefs, we were taken to another snorkeling place, this time with sandy bottom. That was where we saw large starfish. They were just as beautiful as in the pictures.

Lastly, we went to a waist-deep area of the beach Cielito, where we could walk among gliding sting rays. The staff handed us a "snack", which was actually a nice lunch: a plate of ceviche, salsa, tortilla chips, and watermelon. They set up a floating bar where we could get cold beer, juices or water. That was phenomenal!

The water was super clear everywhere. We got back to the marina around 2:30 pm
Another great day in Paradise!

Although we did get to snorkel our excursion was supposed to include a beach club that we did not get to go to. We only booked this excursion because it said beach club after snorkeling. Half of my group only went on this because of a beach club.

The spots we stopped at were beautiful and had lots to see. The guide in the water made sure to have us follow him to see all the cool life on the bottom of the sea. Turtles, stingrays and starfish did not disappoint

The trip was perfect! We were on a smaller boat with just a dozen people, which turned out to be an absolute delight. Our guide Joel and our Captain, Filiberto were a great team with a ton of knowledge.
They knew EXACTLY where to take us to see much more than we expected. We saw nurse sharks, sea turtles, rays and giant star fish! We will definitely come back next year!

Boat was very nice, didn’t feel safe with one staff diver for entire group. Especially in choppy water. Many were holding onto the one life preserver. Only food was chips and guac - not as advertised. Drinks very weak and watered down. What made it all worth while were the beautiful waters at El Cielo. Visit Cozumel yearly and will not book this company again.

This was not a snorkel experience since they provided no fins! Just a mask and snorkel.

Also, pretty sure one of the reefs we went to was dead :/

Not a catamaran either…a sad old boat. Overpriced.

Only redeeming aspect was the sandbar at the end with some booze and ceviche. 10/10 would not go!

We were very excited to go on this highly rated excursion yesterday (3/29/24), but the tour operators at May Be Tours were unable to take us out due to the marina being closed due to high winds. It was otherwise a sunny beautiful day in Cozumel, so this caught all of us by surprise. Our cruise ship (and all other cruise ships) were able to dock in Cozumel. It was just that the smaller marina that this tour operates out of was closed due to the wind.

This cancellation was due to the weather and out of the control of the tour operators, so I’m not holding the cancellation itself against them.

Nevertheless, I need to give them poor marks due to the terrible communication about the cancellation. While they can’t control the weather, they can control their communication.

First of all, no party on our excursion were notified ahead of time that the tour was cancelled. We all found out only when we arrived at the marina after paying $20-$30 each way for a taxi ride. They likely knew first thing in the morning that the marina was closed, especially since a different tour company on site told me that the marina was closed the day prior as well due to the weather. They should have notified us via email so that we wouldn’t have to waste a bunch of money getting to/from the marina. Seriously, every party involved in this cancelled excursion are out $50-$60 each purely because they couldn’t bother to tell us ahead of time that the excursion was cancelled. There’s nothing else to do near the marina either, so it was quite literally a $50 taxi ride to nowhere and back for us.

Second, we arrived 15 minutes early for our 9:30am excursion like we were told, but were not informed by the captain about the cancellation until 9:45am. There were at least 4 groups on this tour who were all forced to just sit outside and wait for an update. Apparently they thought the marina might open back up, but it didn’t.

Finally, we were promised refunds but have yet to be refunded 24 hours later. We’ll see how long it’ll take to actually get our refund, but I would not be surprised if I have to file a claim with my credit card company to get that money back. ($400+ for our family of 5!)

I’m sure this excursion would’ve been great had we been able to go. May Be Tours just needs to improve their customer service for those times when weather conditions force a cancellation of the tour.

This is one of the most amazing places I've ever seen. The tour is FUN and beaty. We had so great time. The guides were super nice and took us on a both to see the sea stars. The kids got so exited.

That was terrible excursion and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. The guys on a catamaran were good, but the places to snorkel were we stopped were not interesting, there were just few fishes and stars, no corals, no other interesting things. Then, I've noticed that something happened to the motor on catamaran and I asked twice if we will be able to get back. The captain and another worker told me that everything will be fine, don't worry, we will be back on time. At the end, they dropped us off almost 1 hour from the place where they suppose to and they said that we can take a taxi to the ship to be back on time. Plus to that, they asked if we want to contribute anything to them!!! The name of the catamaran Zeus, the name of the company which provided the service Maybe Tour ( I should pay attention to the name of this company at the beginning - "maybe". I do not recommend to anyone, specially people who is travelling by ship and needs to be back on time. We were very upset with this tour.

DON'T BOOK THIS TOUR!! We took a taxi from our hotel in Riviera Maya to the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen, took the ferry ride over to Cozumel, then took another taxi from the ferry terminal to Maybe Tours office location. We spent a lot of money getting there, only to be told nonchalantly that the tour was cancelled. No advanced notice. No offer to reimburse us for the travel expense to get there. They simply did not care and there was no reason given. The weather was also perfect! Not windy or anything. I would stay away from this tour company.

A fabulous excursion with David and the crew. Weather was perfect, water was just right and the snorkeling couldn't have been better. Topped it off with great civeche and beverages. Beautiful snorkeling, wonderful lunch, great crew. Happy that we could be picked up at our hotel pier. Great experience!

Captain and crew did great in windy conditions. Friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Snacks were tasty! Beer was cold. Fun group on board.

i’m only writing a review because we were almost discouraged about going on this tour because of a negative review that we came across, but i’m glad we ended up going on this tour, the staff were great! they even gave us more than enough ceviche after already getting served once. if you’re looking to have a good time and not spend as much. this is the place. they even have unlimited beverages(beer, margaritas, and plenty of water.

Don’t believe the positive reviews listed, they pass around a note book and ask everyone to fill in their name and email address. I believe they then write the reviews themselves, first time I have been left very disappointed following TripAdvisor reviews
1. They didn’t serve the food that was listed
2 they didn’t take us to the beach bar as listed on the itinerary but said they would drop us off and leave us there if we wanted
3 bathroom on board the boat was overflowing with poop and pee but they still kept sending people down to use it
4 boat broke down and we sat on the water for 45 min waiting for a fix

I would not recommend this to anyone. We did not go to el coeliac as they said it was closed which it was not!!!!
Also we kept asking about the beach club and they did not take us. Totally awful. So disappointing. Never again!!! Vistor needs to do a better job with due diligence. After this terrible experience I will never take another tour with them.
