Jungala Aqua Experience

This was one of the happiest days of my life to be honest! It was so, so, so much fun. I went in a group of 4 and we had an incredible day. I will recommend it to everyone who goes to this area of Mexico. It is worth the money in my opinion. I haven't been to many (if any?) luxury places, and this felt really high-end to me and well looked after. The staff were friendly, the park is clean. Our belongings felt very safe. The lazy river and swim up bar is amazing! There is something for everyone here.

There are vegan options for fellow vegans - but be careful! At a burger stand, I ordered and paid for the vegan burger and walked away to pick it up in 10 mins. I clarified that I am vegan and made sure it was vegan, the woman said yes but didn't fill me with confidence. I came back and it was ready but she then told me that bread that wasn't vegan on my burger... :-( a park manager (I believe) ending up resolving this for me quickly, and handled it *very* well, but it is quite bad as it was sold as a vegan burger (and I have a dairy intolerance!). Please make sure other guests do not go through this experience. I am just glad the lady was honest with me before I ate it. They did have a restaurant with vegan burger bread not far from the stand, so they were able to remake the burger for me with that bread. There are also other vegan options too which I would like to try if ever I get to go again. This did not spoil the experience for me whatsoever because everything else was truly perfect.

I also really recommend their slushies! They are AMAZING!!!!!!!!

You are allowed to take your phone in the water too which is cool. A friend gave me a waterproof phone case and we got some fun videos in the wave pool :-)

Very happy with our day at Jungala! We’ve been to a few different water parks in Canada and the US, Jungala was as good as any of them.
Perhaps because we were there in October (rainy season), it wasn’t crowded at all, barely any lines for water slides and lots of elbow room on the lazy river.
It got a bit more crowded during the half-price 3 pm-6 pm period, but still very manageable.
The staff were excellent - extremely attentive and safety-conscious.
We splurged on a private cabana but could have survived just fine without one.
The food at the Taco Stand is the best Mexican food we’ve had anywhere at the Vidanta resort (we’ve had 8-9 meals at the other restaurants at the resort this week).
Mojito Bendito is absolutely gorgeous and Julio the bartender is awesome!

A great day out with teens. The lazy river & wave pools are fab and plenty of areas to relax. It was also spotlessly clean. My teens just said it could do with a few more larger slides hence the 4-star (not 5) rating, especially given how expensive it is to visit.

Overall worth the visit & would definitely recommend.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this water park! It was extraordinarily clean. The staff were fantastic! The lunch we had at the cafe was delicious. Overall it was great. If there was one thing, I'd say we need a few more rides. I loved the drop ride, the race ride, the family tube ride. Even though the kid water section was for kids, that was really fun as well. I thought the lazy river was awesome! Definitely a good trip and worth the value. Will go again and bring friends!

We had a great time in Jungala, the service, food and water activities were really, really good but unfortunately, our experience ended rather disappointing.

I live in the Riviera Maya and had forgotten a work tool in my bag when coming to Jungala and the security told me I could not bring it into the park which I totally understand. I asked security to please hold on to it until we would leave the park and the security said it was not possible.

I was kind of surprised about their lack of having a procedure when this kind of situation arises because I'm now forced to leave a $200 USD tool somewhere...

Since the check-in took a while my driver had already left when I came out so having no other options I hid it as best as I could in some bushes outside. Right when I had hid it I saw one of the same security persons standing looking at where I hid it.

I told him I felt very uncomfortable that he now had seen where I hid it and I really hope it would be there when I came back. He just laughed and said "sure".

After a great day in the park, I came out and it was gone.

On top of the frustration of looking for my tool another guard came out and asked what I was looking for and I explained the situation and he said that they actually do have a place to keep things in case it's not allowed in the park.

I have emailed the park with no answer whatsoever.

This is an amazing water park experience. Staff will escort you to your location of choice and the service overall is amazing. The slides are incredible and we can't say enough about the service. This is a must if you are staying at the Vidante resort. Unreal hospitality, food, and service. Top notch, beats ritz carlton, four seasons service.

Jungala has everything a water park should have to include wave pool, family water slide, extreme water slides, lazy river, water slide racing and a kids water park. Pablo who served an amazing pizza was super friendly. Staff is great and park is clean with minimal wait lines for water slides. Worth a visit, if you have children.

Jungala Water Park in Cancun is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to the Riviera Maya with friends or family. This incredible water park offers an endless array of exciting attractions, including thrilling water slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool.

My friends and I had an amazing time exploring the different areas of the park and trying out all the different rides. The water slides were particularly exhilarating, with plenty of twists, turns, and drops.

One of the highlights of our visit was the lazy river, which meandered through a lush jungle landscape and offered a relaxing break from all the adrenaline-pumping action.

The park's amenities were top-notch, with plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas available for us to relax and enjoy the sun. There were also several restaurants and snack bars located throughout the park, which offered a variety of tasty treats and refreshing drinks.

Overall, our experience at Jungala was amazing and I would highly recommend this attraction to anyone visiting the Riviera Maya.

FIRST, let me say that I have a season pass at a waterpark in the USA, so I'm used to going to water parks multiple times each year and I have NEVER had issues like I had at Jungala.

TO START, we were staying at Vidanta and were told we should buy tickets through the resort for discounts. Then when we arrived, although our purchase was visible to the ticket agent they wouldn't let us in because we didn't have the receipt for our purchase. Although Jungala is part of the resort and we bought at the resort they claimed we bought from a "third party" and wouldn't let us in without the receipt. The resort never told us we had to show the receipt as a ticket for entry. We had to go ALL the way back to our room and get the receipt and get a shuttle ALL the way back. This represents horrible management POLICIES. the management personnel was apologetic but worthless in helping us get in (on the day before we left, so our time was limited and inflexible).

THEN the towel scanner didn't work right...that took way longer than it should have.
THEN there were no signs for the locker or staff pointing out they were at the entrance so we didn't know where they were until we had crossed the bridge to the map.
THEN something positive: I asked where there was seating besides paid VIP cabanas and the souvenir person took me to the wifi area a man there walked over to the wave pool, found and moved a chair for us, and called the server to take our order. That was great service!

THEN came THE MAIN EVENT: We enjoyed the lazy river once around, then got out to go on the intertube 2 people can ride together. We reviewed the weight specs and knew we were within safety limits. The staff verified we had verified our weights, then told us we needed to leave our hats, glasses *and cell phones* which we weren't willing to do, so we went back to the lockers! When we returned a new staff person was also there. HER NAME IS VANIA. When we approached, she immediately went to the requirements board and pointed to the individual weight limit. We both nodded our heads that yes, we knew, yes we met the policy, and that we had already confirmed with the other staff. VANIA LOOKED AT US IN DISBELIEF saying, 'What?! You are less than 300 lbs?" We nodded yes, and she looked at me and nodded like she believed me but then looked at my sister and non-verbally gave a look of disbelief. My sister who lives in Merida Mexico tried to communicate more in Spanish and every time VANIA looked shocked in disbelief, not believing she was under 300 lbs. So I said, "What, do you want to weigh us?" She said "Yes!" and then pulled the scale OUT IN FRONT OF ALL THE PUBLIC PEOPLE SITTING EATING (not off the side, discreetly) so everyone could watch the fat ladies getting weighed. When we both met the requirements she looked surprised and sent us on. I told her the way she treated us was insulting and humiliating. She just tossed her head back. THEN we went up the stairs where there was an industrial scale where we were WEIGHED TOGETHER LIKE LIVESTOCK IN FRONT OF EVERYONE IN LINE, like cows on sale for auction. As we stepped on the scale the first time and the needle started to move one staff person whistled loudly, like it was a really high number. When it came to rest and he saw we met the requirement, he had us get off and get back on again, to be sure it was right. Again, we met the requirement and he sent us off to get in the intertube. The staff getting us in was very respectful and kind.

THEN the tube went down the chute. There was one part, which was very poorly designed, because we went airborne and then came slamming down so hard it hurt my tailbone. I was able to finish the ride, get out on my own, and walk okay. When my sister had difficulty getting out of the tube staff came to help her, and were polite as they helped her out. One of the staff was VANIA, who looked at the other staff person, rolled her eyes, and laughed quietly at my sister --- again doing all this in front of everyone eating. That's when I asked for VANIA's name and read her name tag before she could hide it. We rode the lazy river one more time.
I did speak to the manager about this incident when we left. He acted appropriately shocked and disapproved saying that unless I report it in writing using this comment area it is possible that management wouldn't do anything if he verbally reported it.
LATER that night when I went to sit down and couldn't, I thought I had just bruised my tailbone but upon being examined by a doctor the day after I returned it is suspected that it is fractured, which should never happen on a ride. If I was so light I bounced up in the air that would be one thing, but given my weight was questioned it is clear I weighed low enough to be on the ride but not so little I could *bounce*!

So my SUMMARY is that Jungala has POOR management POLICIES, poorly trained staff, and their rides don't adhere to the same safety standards as those in the US.
Would I ever go back? HELL NO! Not as long as the staff, policies, and safety standards remain subpar. Would I like to? Yes! My sister bought a Vindanta membership while there and will be returning to all the resorts. I will likely come with her. We'll seriously think twice before going here again!

Great experience- for adults and kids. Not crowded, very clean and great rides. The cabana made it worth it for adults - ours was in the shade, with attendants regularly checking on us and bringing us anything we needed. Super relaxing in cabana which created a great experience for the adults. We even got a foot massage while there.

The lazy River was great with waterfalls and a swim up bar to stop at. Family tube ride was a blast. The 2extreme rides (one they drop the floor from your feet and you shoot through winding tubes) were short but exhilarating.

Amazing day out. Cleanest water park I have ever been to. Rides were fun. Something for all
ages. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Was great day out for our family with three young children ages 8, 6 and 2

Excellent day out. So relaxing on the lazy river. So much fun on the water slides. Food was exceptional. The cabana was great value for money. Highly recommended.

Word of note…if you go by taxi or drive yourself, the water park is located in an exclusive hotel. It appears hard to find, but it’s not.

Good things:
-hardly anyone there despite a beautiful day in march. Never had to wait more than a few minutes for a ride.
-theres a truly awesome structure for kids to play on. Only downside, it might scare ones under 4 or 5 as it's constant water flying at you but there are so many slides on it.
-the lazy river is a lot of fun. Relaxing with a drink while floating along is a good time.

Bad things:
-obvious but price is high
-there are really only 4 slides for adults and none of them are the longer ones you can really enjoy. 2 of the 4 are 2 or 3 secondly rides and a 3rd is 7 seconds. The family one is ok.
-the wave pool is pathetic. It stops for long periods and, when it is on, the waves are extremely small.

Other info:
-Family slide has a combined weight limit of 550lbs
-other slides have a max weight of 300 lbs
-they say only 1L of water per family but we had more and no one cares but they did search our bags
-they say no shirts but you're in the sun all day and it's a good idea. No one in our group was ever asked to remove a shirt, even a button on shirt.
-there are lockers but you really don't need them. You can store items at the bottom of each slide.

Overall: if you have kids aged 5 to 12 this place is a lot of fun. If not, avoid it or wait until 3pm for half price. You can easily do everything in 3 hours.

We had reservations on a “cold front” day but that didn’t stop us. It was not busy, which was great! We received the best customer service, upgraded with a Cabana and the food was all so good! Not what you would typically expect at a water park. The kids area was padded, had warmer water and was easy to watch kids play in. The older kids area had too many splashing activities for my 5 year old. Loved the big hot tub and lazy River. Excellent place!

Safety should be a number one priority at a facility such as this! My family had used the family slide several times during the morning/early afternoon. There was a change of staff later at the top and when we returned to use the same slide we were asked to step on a scale. We were told we could not go together on the same tube. ( Due to weight). There was no change in the number of family members using the slide. Will never be back and recommend folks stay clear, clearly not the same safety standards as in the United States and Canada. There is also only one family slide not 2 as indicated in promotional material.

First, put a sign up on the road so you can actually find it! It’s at the Cirque de soleil entrance, but you wouldn’t know if there wasn’t Google maps. Then we paid 4 adult tickets, because our 8&9 year old are over 4 feet /120cm and considered adults?!?!! That is not okay, have a child rate. The park itself is beautiful, there’s lots of staff and they are helpful. But it’s a lot of misunderstandings due to my lack of Spanish and limited English by the staff. Slides are great fun, but one family/group slide isn’t even there. It’s on every map, but it doesn’t exist. The lazy River goes all around the park and connects each area. Theres a bunch of iguanas and birds too, really nice. We had a fun day, the park was empty, no line ups at all. Don’t pay for any of the premium packages! They are a joke, some semi private cabana that isn’t worth anything. They food is ridiculously expensive and not very good. Overall it is a good water park, but nothing luxurious. The pricing for the kids, non existing slides and that it’s difficult to find is what’s making me skip this next time I’m in Playa del Carmen.

The prices the resort is asking for admission are embarrassing. Yet another blatant attempt by Vidanta to milk their members. It’s shameful.
