San Jose Sightseeing City Tour

Whilst Oscar’s knowledge was informative the actual tour consisted mainly of drive-bys. A brief visit to the foyer of the theatre and not much else. The included lunch was very good.

Oscar was an insightful guide, sharing the local experience with a great local dinner, customized to my dietary needs (Vegetarian). I felt I got to see sights and experience a bit from the local perspective. Highly recommended!

Excellent tour!! My family and I learned a great deal about the Costa Rican history and culture. Roger was an amazing guide. He was very friendly and accommodating. I truly recommend this tour.

Oscar was the best tour guide! He provided great information about San Jose all along the tour. He gave us three choices for lunch, and we chose the more historic, traditional one. It was a fabulous meal.
We especially appreciated Oscar picking us up in Heredia, which is where we are staying, even though it meant that he had to go through rush hour traffic to take us back there.
I would definitely go on another tour if Oscar was leading it.

Had Oskar all to myself for this 4 hour tour. Showed me all the important places and different barrios in San José. Very nice and knowledgable.
At the end Great costa rican Food at yoguis. All options nicely explained and was able to choose exactly what i craved.

We had a good experience with booking this tour. The guide was knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour. There were some drinks on the tour but not bottled water for everyone.

This tour was totally misrepresented to me as a tour of museums, and sites. We were taken to a villa where lots of things were being sold, held there. Got out of the van once for 5 minutes at theatre, and that was it, driven around and things were pointed out.. then lunch where the tour guide stood over us while we filled our a written evaluation. What was explained to me on the phone in the US was entirely different than the tour here. My husband and I have booked Viator tours in the past and have been pleased, however this was the exception. $ 130.00 for this trip was not worth it at all.

The San Jose city tour was very informative, and our guide was very knowledgeable of the sites we were visiting as well as the history of the country

We enjoyed the whole experience, Jordan was a great guide. Of the many stops. We enjoyed the historical theater quite a bit.

Jordan was an incredible tour guide!!!!! He was amazing!!!! Knew so much and made the experience so special. DO NOT BOOK with this company. Instead book directly with VIP costa rica tours and request Jordan!!!!! This company double booked the poor guy and he did his best but everything was closed because the first tour at 6am ran late and I did not start my tour until 4pm.

We were able to customize the trip and spend time based on our preferences. The food was also amazing.

This tour was operated by Destiny Travel and guided by Señor Oscar. Oscar performed an excellent job as he provided me with both substantive and exciting information about the city, country, region, architectural, cultural, historical, sports and other aspects of life in Costa Rica. Oscar is a very experienced tourism specialist and is able to tune the tour according to the customer’s needs and interests — in my case I wanted to combine both guided ride and walking around historical/cultural places on my own and I got plenty of both. Also, I hoped to get a chance to see more art related places, and I was able to do that too. On top of it, Oscar was very attentive to my lunch tastes and preferences, and without expecting it I had a chance to choose from many tempting lunch options and select an exquisite traditional lunch. The tour was just half a day but very memorable and allowed me to discover many new and interesting places and things, while at the same time feeling like a welcomed friend. In the end, my tour guide and I agreed to watch the upcoming soccer home game (on live TV in my case) happening in San Jose and support Costa Rican team in its strife to get to the World Cup. Oscar and Destiny Tours are the absolute best. If Costa Rica is on your bucket list just do it!! Book your adventures with Destiny tours though. The absolute best in Costa Rica. The most amazing tour. Our tour guide Oscar was by far a 10 star tour guide. His passion for his country was so inspiring and his knowledge of Costa Rica and San Jose made the day we spent with him memories that will last a lifetime.

If you do not book with this tour company and with Oscar you will truly miss out on one of the best parts of Costa Rica. When I leave I will take back to the United States the memories of an amazing country and a new Costa Rican family friend.

<p>I was very disappointed by this tour. I was informed very late the night before that the tour was going to be an hour later than the originally scheduled time. As a result, we were waiting for a while before we realized they were coming 1 hour later. The tour was supposed to stop at 5 places and only stopped at 2. The rest we drove by which is not what is described in the tour information. The one place we really wanted to stop was the arts and crafts market. We were not told it was going to close at 4 until it was too late to do anything about it. We never got to go to the one place we really wanted to see. This tour was supposed to be 4-5 hours and it was only 3 hours. Bottled water was supposed to be provided and it was not. For 60/person, this was not worth the cost. I would not recommend this tour to anyone without significant changes.</p>
