Monumental Electric Bike Tour

thanks Joe for providing a great tour on a beautiful Washington day. Got more than what we bargain for with some fantastic insights into the history of Washington.

Our group consisted of 15 people - far far too many. The guide allowed us only a few minutes (sometimes 5) to visit a site and go to the toilet. It was really stressful and not enjoyable at all. We also asked if we would be passing the White House or the Capitol - the guide said that this was too difficult with the groupsize as there were too many people near the White House. We later walked there and had to disagree - it was easily accessible, not to many people.
If you are a tourist there are some obvious places you want to see - we „only“ saw war memorials. While we have full respect for exceptionally sad losses of so many people we still feel that it should have been a mix of venues and to be honest, we would have liked more time at the war memorials to truly show respect.
There are no toilets in the shop - for a 3-hour trip I think this should be a must.
If you wanted to take pictures there was definitely not enough time. It was good to have the guide in training with us - he was very forthcoming with information and guided us to a restaurant following the tour.

The New York cycle tour was a thousand times better and so informative. As a tourist from outside of the USA I would definitely not recommend this tour - check groupsize beforehand.

They should do it. JOE our guide was very knowledgeable about the monuments and we learned quite a bit. His patient attitude was apparent as he answered all and any questions we asked. Had an absolute awesome time 3 hours well spent. 👌 💯

We chose this company based on the stellar Trip Advisor reviews! Wow, we did not have that experience at all. The guide was 5 stars, and we tipped him generously.

But the bikes themselves were UNSAFE. They were not in good condition as promised -- insufficient braking capability, loose steering, no night lights, inconsistent operating brake lights (important when following another bike in the dark), loose ebike control panels (flopping around on the handlebar).

Staff did not make any attempt to help you adjust the seat height for proper riding, check the brakes, or to ensure the lights worked (front and rear), or that the bike was in SAFE operating condition. There were six people in our group, and ALL of the bikes malfunctioned in some important way or another.

Reflective vests should be mandatory for a night tour, not optional. Weeks before the tour, we were assured by phone that the entire tour was on bike lanes and not on busy streets. WRONG. Poor brakes on busy streets with cars who can't see you + no front light = recipe for accident. We were just lucky. Don't believe their marketing hype.

This is my second year in a row doing this with Joe. So what does that tell you?

We lucked in with fabulous weather in DC, so it was the perfect way to see the mall & more. The e-bikes allowed us to cover alot ground without too much hassle to see the key sites. If you can ride a bike then I thoroughly recommend taking this tour if in DC

This is the best bike tour in DC. 3 hours went so fast. We got to see more memorials than I’ve seen on other tours with time to walk around. Thank you Joe for a very informative and entertaining experience!

Tour guide, Joe, was awesome, very knowledgeable and informative.
Felt that I was charged too much since I paid for E Bike and my wife had to use regular bike.

This is a fabulous tour. We saw all the monuments and the electric bikes made it very easy. David was an exceptional tour guide. Hesitate to book the tour.

Our guide, Jose, was informative and helpful. My bike was not working properly, and Jose fixed it quickly. The bikes were new and sturdy. This trip is a great way to get to know the "lay of the land. We visited all the big memorials and got some interesting history. The time allotted at each was adequate. The route was well planned, making navigation easier.

Great fun to bike at night between the monuments and get a short intro from the guide, who was excellent at keeping our group of 15 all together. We thought about doing it on our own with Lime bikes but it was nicer to have no hassle factor and not having to navigate busy streets ourselves. We could just reflect on the meaning and importance of the monuments. It's good to see them during the day and the night setting where lighting makes them even more dramatic.

Great way to see all the main sights and memorials in DC.

Bikes were ok although mine probably needed a service on the rear brakes

Seeing monuments that I’ve never seen before and learning new things about the ones I knew. The leader was knowledgeable , friendly and patient.

Alexa was amazing!!!! So knowledgeable and very patient.

Only negative was they gave us regular bikes to begin with instead of E-bikes. They didn’t pay attention to detail and made the entire group wait for us because we had to exchange them. We felt bad but at no fault of our own.

When you check in Verify that you are getting an E-Bike prior to your trip.

Tour says they give you a free water bottle but to no avail so bring your own small one that fits in a small water bottle holder.

There is a small pouch that you can put your phone and keys. It’s about the size of a small Fanny pack.

Kirby was a great tour guide and I’d recommend anyone who comes to DC to do this tour.super- informative and a great way to spend 3 hours!

A great tour. Stopped and saw the major monuments. An easy way to see it all. Charlotte, our guide was super informative and knowledgeable.

Joe was great. Really thorough on his tutorial. awesome! The bikes are easy to learn, the sites were great, the route is safe. Would do again if coming back this way.
