First Timers Rolling Happily Along Through Beautiful Ft Lauderdale!
2025-05-02
This was an OUTSTANDING experience and such a fun way to spend a few hours in Fort Lauderdale before flying home after our cruise! Our tour guide Mike outfitted us with helmets and provided 1:1 training before we headed out for the tour. We had some time to practice as well which was helpful in getting comfortable using the Segway as we were all first-timers. Mike took us all around the Riverwalk area and through some historic neighborhoods sharing so much of the rich history of this beautiful part of Fort Lauderdale. We took loads of photos and some great videos too and left feeling like we had made a new friend who just loves where he lives and what he does! I am so glad we found this experience and took advantage of it! It was a vacation highlight for sure and a perfect cherry-on-top ending to our trip! Thanks friends!!!
Excellent - but tired feet!

One of our favorite activities while visiting Ft Lauderdale. I'd taken a Segway tour in another city several years ago... by comparison, this was head and shoulders better... not because of the sites, both were wonderful. But Mike, our guide, was outstanding. His thorough training ahead of time, making sure the group of these three nervous 62 year olds was safe, comfortable and confident for our 2 hour journey, made all the difference.
We didn't expect that our feet would take such a hit (I don't remember that from the last time, maybe older feet?), so we needed to take more frequent foot-rest breaks, but Mike anticipated our needs and made stops at strategic and scenic sites... so very much appreciated! And once the tour was over, he made sure we got to our next destination
The only possible suggestion I could offer... perhaps minimize conversation while in motion as it was hard for those of us in the back to hear what was being said. I know this wouldn't be helpful when passing relevant sites. Just a thought!

Mike was our guide, we were super impressed with his knowledge and patience. We were also very fortunate that our group of three turned out to be a private tour. We are friends in our early 60s, not athletic at all, and weren’t quite sure how we would fare - he was very patient and made sure we were all safe and fully comfortable before taking off. The tour itself was fantastic. We went through a lot of areas that we would never have otherwise seen and Mike was very knowledgeable and again, very patient. The one thing that really surprised all of us - and this is no one’s fault – is that our feet got really sore/numb standing on the Segways for so long. That said, Mike was very aware and watched us and took several foot rest breaks. Again, we felt very blessed that we had a small group so we weren’t inconveniencing anyone else. but make sure that your shoes have extra cushioning! The whole experience was super fun and we were so glad we did it. Mike took plenty of photos for us and airdropped them to us when we finished. That was quite the happy surprise.
The only comment for improvement I would make-when you’re riding the Segways, you are typically in a line… it would probably be helpful to either have headsets or not much conversation until you stop, because in the rear you couldn’t hear from the front, etc. So maybe more quiet time during the ride with talking at the stops.
