Public Art Tour

We have been coming to Sarasota for many years but on this tour we discovered numerous murals, sculptures,etc. that we had never seen before! Very informative. Good guide!

We have been in Sarasota for over twenty years as “snowbirds” and have never noticed in detail the public art in our city. While we may not always like or understand some of the sculpture, this tour helped us see all the beauty we have in sculpture and murals. All of these add up to be a critical ingredient in what makes Sarasota so special. Our guide and driver did a great job!

Jerome was a fabulous guide- enthusiastic, very knowledgeable and showed us a variety of arts all over Sarasota. A fun 2 hours. Highly reccomend. Vicki L

Sarasota is known for its support of the arts and riding in the trolley and getting to see so many amazing murals and sculptures throughout the city was SO interesting! We have vacationed down here for over 30 years and yet have missed seeing so much art!! I highly recommend this fun 2 hour tour.

This narrated art tour aboard an antique trolley is the perfect way to see all the amazing sculptures, statues, murals, and buildings in beautiful Sarasota. The tour guide, Jerome Chesley, an artist himself, was the perfect guide to highlight the stunning pieces of art we saw on the tour. He was a wealth of knowledge. We came away with a new found appreciation of lovely Sarasota.

I purchased this tour as a pleasant way to familiarize my boyfriend, who’s from Massachusetts, with Sarasota. I’ve lived here for 31 years, and this trolley took us down streets I’d never seen before! It also highlighted sculptures and murals I’ve driven by but never noticed because my eyes were on the road. Our guide was a pleasant man, himself an accomplished artist. His wife started this business. I can’t say he is a natural public speaker, but he did not make us suffer through corny jokes, which often happens on city tours.

Plan to spend time in the business’s gift shop. You’ll find a lot of fun stuff.

The driver, Siggy, was very safe and slow. We didn’t get thrown against each other as he was taking turns or going around the roundabouts.

The trolley necessarily has big windows. The sun got to be too hot, so be prepared for a warm experience mid-afternoons. I suggest you book mornings if you can.

this tour was just what I was hoping it would be. We had seen much of the art in front of and on buildings but didn't know anything about it. The tour guide was knowledgable about the artist and pointed out other pieces by the artist, so you could really get a sense of the artist style. Also saw some that you would have to go a little bit out of your way to view in a normal trip around the city. Included some architectural art and history .I have been on 5 tours with this company and so far this was 1 or 2 on my list. The Amish tour was right at the top of my experiences with this company also. We actually spent closer to 2 hours on this tour so that we could see everything they wanted to show us. Have been on 3 tours with Siggi as our driver and he is a "hoot" also. Great driver.

Wonderful tour with an entertaining and informative guide. We loved hearing the stories of the sculpture and murals in the city.

Our guide, Jerome Chesley, a local artist, knew the subject so thoroughly and shared just the right amount with easy enthusiasm that was a pleasure to listen to!

The University Park Women's Club first social event of the season, the Trolley Tour of Sarasota's Public Art, was very well received. Both the owner of Discover Sarasota, Tammy Hauser, and Jerry Chesley, the art historian, were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Picking us up at our country club and dropping off 3 members downtown to attend a funeral was really appreciated!
A party atmosphere while obtaining knowledge is an absolute winner!

The bus was perfectly air conditioned. The tour guide knew his material and was easy to hear. We were given iced water as we boarded the bus exactly on time. The 90 minute tour went by quickly as there was always something interesting with no breaks in between sculptures and murals and lots of facts of interest. I am definitely taking another tour with them.

I took an art tour recently led by an extremely knowledgeable guide, Jerome Chesley I believe is how his name is spelled. From start to finish my experience was great. It began in the sign in building where the owner was extremely gracious & had many fun & unique items for sale. I have lived here 4 years and on this tour I learned so much of interest and saw many things I’ve never noticed before. Although I love art, I think everyone would thoroughly enjoy this tour. The owner even came onto the air conditioned trolly to provides us with info before we took off. And Jerome’s in depth knowledge of art, especially in Sarasota, made the experience even better. I love it when people like Jerome & the new owner are excited & pationate about their jobs. I’m definitely taking more tours as soon as I return to Sarasota next fall! Thank you both. PS. Even the driver was good.

I had no idea what to expect when I signed up for the tour, but, was very pleasantly surprised! Although I’ve lived in Sarasota for 40 years, there were many pieces of public art I have never noticed before-and to learn who the artists are, and bits of the history behind each piece, was delightful!

We had a wonderful time on this fine art tour, saw some murals and sculptures we had never seen before! Our tour guide Jerry, was wonderful and his depth of knowledge and telling us about a bit of historical Sarasota. Give it a try it’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
