What You Will Do

Welcome to a grand urban pleasure garden; home to the largest stand of old-growth oak trees on Earth. These magnificent Southern Live Oaks, dripping with Spanish moss, are silent witnesses to over 700 years of natural history and local culture. We will explore a mesmerizing landscape brimming with wildlife, picturesque bayous, secluded fountains, romantic stories, Neo-Classical and Art-Deco architecture, WPA-era gardens and bridges, Enrique Alferez sculpture, and “flying horses.” City Park represents the heart and soul of New Orleans. Join me as we celebrate the successful relationship between nature’s splendor and humanity’s creative achievements. The tour is ready whenever you are and the audio plays automatically at exactly the right time and place using your smartphone's GPS and the VoiceMap mobile app, which also works offline.

New Orleans Museum of Art

The New Orleans Museum of Art houses a collection of over 40,000 objects including works by Picasso, Matisse, Monet, Pollock, Renoir, as well as Edgar Degas who lived in New Orleans for a short time. The architecture gives the impression of a Greek temple, slightly modified, suggesting a more subtropical appearance with the inclusion of a Spanish tile roof.
