Area 51 Day Tour from Las Vegas

Had a great day with "Captain" Kirk. Our vehicle was very comfortable, and he made sure we had stops when necessary. Kirk was very knowledgeable and very entertaining to listen too. We only had a group of 5 in the tour which also made it very personal and allowed us to discuss theories and thoughts about Area 51 and what happens there. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are interested in these subjects, and I would request Kirk as your guide.

Great Fun with two friends who were into Aviation as well as Aliens. We stopped to get some great pictures. Our Driver/guide, Kirk, was very engaging and answered all our questions. The Meal at the Little Ale'in was surprisingly good. A great Quirky one day tour to do whilst in Las Vegas , highly recommended!

Firstly, Our driver/Guide , Marcus was exceptional in every aspect of guiding! The whole day was filled with highlights. The Area 51 security gate did not disappoint! Filming &Photos were allowed. Marcus made it very clearly the boundaries Security cameras and microphones set up everywhere! You are being watched and listened too lol!!!!! What a treat!
Plenty of stops for snacks and bathroom facilities Lunch stop was great! Alien burger and fresh cut french frys yum! There are lots of other options too…And all included
Tour started at 7 am and ended exactly at 530.

The tour guide was really good and very knowledgeable. We got to get some good souvenirs. I would have never found the place because the roads are unpaved and not labeled. The lunch at Rachel was excellent also. They have good hamburgers made from aliens.

Let me start by saying that I enjoyed this tour but I'm certain it's not for everybody.

On a trip to Las Vegas in October 2023, we were picked up from our hotel by Clayton at 6am, in a seven-seater minivan. Water and snacks were provided, which we were free to dip into as we pleased.

Just a few minutes into the tour we made a stop just outside the airport where Clayton pointed out the planes which reportedly fly staff in and out of Area 51 each day. As is to be expected on a tour like this, much of the discussion is based on rumour and conjecture, which can be fun to hear.

We then set off for Area 51, making a stop around an hour into the journey. We bought breakfast and some souvenirs and set off once again. Unfortunately, our van had an issue which caused a huge vibration above 50mph. It seemed to come from the rear wheels. After a long day of driving, this did cause a headache and I wish something more could have been done to ensure the vehicle was comfortable.

It took around 2.5 hours to reach the Area 51 gate. It is a barrier across a dirt path, overlooked by hills. US Air Force signs warn of the penalties of crossing the barrier. A white vehicle sat atop the hill, purportedly surveilling us. As we neared this, Clayton told stories of previous visits; of government cars appearing from nowhere. Of helicopters flying nearby, causing camera equipment to malfunction. It is up to you to decide how much of these stories is true and how much is coincidence or exaggeration but, in any case, it can be fun to speculate, in the spirit of the tour.

After taking some pictures, we made a quick stop at the 'black mailbox' and then on to the Little Ale'inn, where lunch was provided as part of the tour package. The food was good and the family running the restaurant were very accommodating, welcoming, friendly people. Unfortunately, the merchandise and souvenirs adorning the Little Ale'inn are, in my opinion, overpriced. With that said, this was my personal highlight of the tour.

Next we made a stop at a huge, flat, dry lake-bed. This was unrelated to the Area 51 element of the tour but it was an incredible place to visit. Surrounded by towering mountains, this vast, flat expanse of land was unlike anything I'd ever seen before and made for some great pictures.

We made a couple of further stops at alien themed gift shops on the way back to Las Vegas. Again, these can be interesting if you're invested in the Area 51 story.

I believe the entire tour, from pickup to drop-off took around ten hours. With snacks and lunch included, it's good value given the distance travelled, which was close to 300 miles. With that said, much of the time is spent driving and the Nevada desert and Joshua trees can only remain interesting for a portion of that time. Ultimately, you're visiting a gate at the edge of a military base, a small-town restaurant and some gift shops. If, like me, you want to be able to say you've visited Area 51, this tour is a great option otherwise, there may be other activities you will find more fulfilling.

A final word on our tour guide. Clayton was friendly, knowledgeable and fun, although he did become defensive quite quickly when we asked sensible questions about the actual evidence of the goings-on within Area 51. And he does like to talk. There was never a moment of silence for the full ten hour journey. On several occasions, other members of the tour group would ask questions or share stories only to be quite rudely interrupted by Clayton before they'd finished speaking. This, however, is only a minor gripe mentioned here as a means of providing constructive feedback.

So, as the title of this review says, this is a good tour if you're prepared to temper your expectations and know what you're going to get. It delivers everything it sets out but that may not be to everybody's tastes.

Unique opportunity to explore unknown but lack of information disappointing, got to know more about nature than the unknown

Clayton is a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great day, good communication via text and through Viator regarding pick up. Tour itself was very good, lots of different places and stops, and a chance to see something other than the Las Vegas strip!

Absolutely incredible experience! Got to see so many cool spots, great photo opportunities and once in a lifetime opportunity to get close to Area 51.

Fantastic day out to Area 51 and the Mojave Desert - stunning scenery, unidentified aircraft spotted, great lunch at Little A’le’inn, and a black post box!
Highly recommended and our guide “Art” was exceptional.

I have always wanted to take this tour and it didn't disappoint. You really need to be into the whole alien conspiracy, because you don't see any aliens, lol or any of the buildings on the "top secret" base. The Lil Ale Inn is a nice restaurant.

This was an absolute wonder of a trip. If you have any interest in UFOs and top secret places than this is your tour. The tour guide was wonderful and the places you go culminating in a visit right to the very gates of Area 51 was Amazing!!!!

Amazing tour for skeptics and non skeptics alike with an interest in UFOs and conspiracy stories. Michael, our driver and guide from Adventure Photo tours, was extremely knowledgeable on the subject at hand as well
as a variety of other topics. On the long ride he kept us entertained with stories, jokes, and especially sharing his vast knowledge on
the area geology as well as the history of Las Vegas. Unforgettable explanations on the playa and Joshua trees were highly educational.

There were four other people on the tour and they were great to share the experience with. I would say that is the key to this trip - exchanging all together on the extra-terrestrial topic while exploring a new fascinating area.

Factor in about 10 hours - tour departed Las Vegas about 7 AM and return at hotel by about 5:30 PM. It is about a two hour ride including stops to the Rachel Nevada and Area 51 location.

My only regret is that I did not get abducted by Aliens :) Maybe next trip!

We had a great day trip on the Area 51 Tour. Our tour guide, Clayton, was super knowledgeable and funny. He had so much information and insight. He really listened to our group as well and made the tour exactly what we wanted.
