Intrepid Museum Admission Ticket

Great exhibit with great explanations. Definitely longer than an hour and a half needed. Inside and outside exhibits.

A lot of fun. Staff is friendly and there are a lot of things to see.
I would love if there was a more interactive alternative though. Would’ve loved to be able to sit in one of the airplane cockpits for example.

After paying for the ticket I was not able to pull it up on the app., it Kept going round in circles.

Wow always dreamed of going on an aircraft carrier since being a child and my dream came true. And to top it off I see a space shuttle too.

Got this for my son and husband whilst me and my daughter went shopping on 5th avenue 😆 they loved it…… they had such a great time together and particularly loved the simulator !!!

Really enjoyed this visit - we went in the main to see the Space Shuttle, but had not realised quite how much else there was to see and do. Didn’t leave enough time - could do with a good three/four hours to see everything.

One for me this geeking out 7ndercan actual Space Shuttle. If into military history and nostalgia id recommend. Was the main event of the Enterprise i loved. Wish i could of touched it

An interesting concept but a poor customer experience. Outdated facilities, no food and drink and lack of engagement with any of the themes. No buzz. Just a bunch of (important) equipment dumped on a deck. So many better things to spend your time and money on.

Visiting the Intrepid Museum isn’t just for those addicted to military history & aviation geeks.
Intrepid Museum has something to entertain & dare I say help educate the whole family in definitely something they didn’t know before the visit.
Getting there early is a must for anyone wanting to explore the USS Growler submarine, be warned this is popular and a little wait can be expected if you don’t get to this quickly. It’s also a tight space to be explored so if you don’t get on in small spaces think twice, but they do let you experience the fit of a few of the hatches before you head on the climb through the submarine.
The flight deck has aircraft exhibits spaced out well with plenty of room to walk and snap your photographs. All be it the helicopters could be better placed/spaced out for the limited number there.
The USS Enterprise is well positioned within its own housing with a great backstory around her, this is bound to blow any buddy astronauts mind. A great exhibit.
If you time it right the aircraft lift still works and you can catch a lift between the flight deck and hangar deck, this is really worth trying to time if right for.
When walking around the hangar deck, you can still smell the history of Intrepid, and her working life which is really great.
There’s also interactive stations in this area for younger family members (and the big kids).
If visiting New York & whether you’re fully into aviation & military history or not, Intrepid Museum is a must on your visit list, and is in a great location to explore New York further along the Hudson River.

The museum really brings to live the history of the ship and its crew, don't miss the film in the hangar deck and meet the veterans in the upper command post.

Great family day out, something for all the family, very interactive, our boys loved it. Would recommend to all, you could easily spend half a day here.

Getting the tickets ahead of time through Viator made going through tickets admission a breeze as we could skip the queue, book our timed entry and carpe diem at the museum.

The museum is not huge but is well-curated. Most enjoyed the walkthrough the Growler which was an eye opener. Must-visit!

Very inclement weather when we visited . Made visiting flight deck area very difficult. Large number of planes limed up on Flight deck but weather forced us to the lower decks

Have wanted to visit Intrepid for decades, finally got the opportunity - my second Essex-class carrier (USS Hornet in Alameda being my first).
On the aircraft front, great to see an Avenger, shame no Corsair or Dauntless like on USS Midway in San Diego given Intrepid's history, but very happy to see the Douglas Skyray (one of my fave planes) and the A-12 Cygnus (like at the USS Alabama/USS Drum Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama).
Bit concerned that, according to the ordnance markings, several of the missiles and bombs (e.g. on and by the Super Tomcat) were "live" rounds not inert... assuming/hoping that's just a paint job for authenticity!
Seeing the space shuttle atmospheric test vehicle, Enterprise, up close was a real treat.
USS Growler was a quick experience, but fascinating and an honour to see the only nuclear-armed sub on public display.
Sad that the Concorde wasn't there, as she's off getting a respray at the moment, but given I live in Bristol, England, we have our own one here that I can visit whenever I like.
I was disappointed that there were no model kits (Revell, Airfix...) available in gift shop (anything - aircraft, ships or boats!), would've got one for sure. But the t-shirts etc. were good (I got two!).

Fantastic family visit to see the USS Intrepid. We all really enjoyed the experience and we all learned something too

My husband and boys had a great time since they are interested in ships, planes and warfare. Even though I am not very interested in these things, I was able to enjoy the visit.

Very unique place. Worth a visit! Go on a nice day and take lots of pictures.
Will go back next year.
