You will be swept up in the 500 year history of Beaufort, the jewel of the south. You will hear of Indian massacres, Pirates, Slaves, planters wealthy beyond belief, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, a great fire, a catastrophic hurricane, and the wonderful stories of the brave and tenacious people of Beaufort.

Meeting Point

Please meet me outside the Marina Ship Store (1006 Bay Street). The red and white brick store is located in a public parking lot that charges $1 an hour at the kiosk. Please put in at least 3 hours (4/5 if you are staying for lunch/shopping after). I will be wearing my straw hat.

Beaufort

You will stroll amidst some of the finest antebellum homes in America. Along the way you will see historical monuments, churches, statues and Low Country foliage. You will be spellbound by stories of brave and tenacious people of Beaufort and historically famous figures that helped shape the United States as you know it today.
