What You Will Do

Step into Charleston’s past as you explore its rich historical tapestry through a walking tour of its most iconic buildings. We'll enter historic buildings and churches, marvel at unique architecture, hear stories of Charleston's past from colonial times through Civil War to modern preservation. Sites include Dock Theatre (entrance if possible), St. Michael's Church (entrance if possible), Old Exchange & Provost, Rainbow Row, The Battery, Washington Square & more. Led by a local Charlestonian and professional tour guide, this small group walking tour will cross cobblestone streets and cut through back alleys, all while discovering the hidden gems, beautiful mansions, elegant churches, and a few graveyards of Charleston's historic center. (While the buildings are open to the public, all entrances are subject to availability as these are working churches in use by their congregations.)
