Sunset and Glow Guided Kayaking Tour Grapevine Lake

What a great way to spend an evening! Brought my husband, sister, and brother-in-law. We all found it relaxing and fun! Would go back with my kids! The scenery was beautiful, the kayaks were fun, and Walker, our guide, was adorable!

The good was that the booking online service was great (but they charge an "online service fee"), they sent the liability waiver ahead of time for all members in your party and they sent an email confirmation with the details (time, location, what to bring ect). The views as the sun set was also pretty and that helped cool things down. We also saw deer, beavers and some birds. The kayaks are easy to carry and they give you a lifejacket and an optional dry bag/water bottle. And the lights on the kayak were fun ( you can pick your own colors) Then that is about it for the good. The guides were ready on time which I appreciated but we did have to wait for two people which was annoying (I received multiple reminders as well as a recommendation to be at least 15 min early!) As soon as we hit the water I was expecting to go to the "nearby wandering creek" which not only did we not go to but was never mentioned by our guides. It is noted online that "Our knowledgeable guides will skillfully navigate the journey". What journey, they were not very engaging and then we also just never paddled as a group. There was no tour, or guidance or exploration involved. We were sent out and told to be within shouting distance and as soon as it got dark meant we were just stuck paddling in a smallish circle. It was basically a glorified floaty. Also since this is a public space there were plenty of boaters out so I hope you enjoyed the music that they were listening to. To top of the evening we ended the tour early, why? Great question. Oh and as you are leaving they tell you how to tip them in cash and where to put it. Pretty presumptuous if you ask me. I definitely would have rather paid to rent kayaks on my own somewhere for a fraction of the cost and have a much better time being out on the water and actually paddling! I am by no means a kayaking expert or junkie (although my partner is and I booked this as a surprise which is now an embarrassment I can't live down) I would not recommend and would not come back- at least not to this location. We left disappointed.

What a beautiful and peaceful experience! Starting with the sunset and ending with the full moon the night was filled with beauty. We even got to see some deer come to the lake for a drink of water. The light up kayaks were so cool too! Brian and Talia were helpful and so friendly and we enjoyed our discussions with them.

The lake was vey calm and peaceful. It was beautiful to see the sunset. We saw deer by the edge of the lake getting a drink of water. At night, there was a full moon and it was really cool with our kayaks lit up. The guides were very friendly. I would highly recommend if you want a peaceful experience with beautiful surroundings.

We had such a great time on the sunset glow tour! The sunset was incredible and Ryan was such a great tour guide - very helpful and experienced. They had bug spray, sunscreen and water bags available before the tour started - just be sure to arrive a bit early. This is a really unique experience that I will never forget!

Fun tour, easy to kayak, not to far a distance. Wear sandals or water shoes as you’ll have to step out into the water to board your kayak. They provide water proof bags and life jackets.

This was such a cool evening! Our guides were so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire evening. Will definitely return and bring friends!

This was amazing!! Getting to see the sunset and kayak was absolutely beautiful. And then when it got dark we turned on the glow lights and it was the coolest thing ever. Cant wait to do this again!! Its a must and one of the coolest experiences ever. Kara was our guide and she was amazing.

This kayaking tour was so much fun! The water was very calm as we paddle through a cove on the edge of the lake. We also explored a creek which was very cool. Our host Kara gave us instructions on how to kayak and she told us some of the history of the lake. The area is beautiful and peaceful and I was able to unwind and connect with nature.
The best part was turning on the glow lights as it was getting dark. I highly recommend this activity if you are looking for something fun and unique to do.

Such a cool experience! I did the sunset and glow tour and had an awesome time. My guides were Kara and Dan and they made sure I had a fun and safe adventure. We explored some natural areas and a creek that you can only access by kayak. I really enjoyed the “glow” in the clear kayaks after the sun set. Highly recommend!
