Awesome experience

Even though we didn’t get lucky with dolphins, the tour was still fantastic. Matt and Kayden were so knowledgeable and personable that it made the trip. Thanks to both for a wonderful experience!

We had a great time kayaking in search of dolphins. Our guide Matt was incredibly knowledgeable about the are and wildlife and kayaking in general. This was one of our favorite parts of our trip and we are glad we took the tour.
Lackluster - not as advertised

Overall a lackluster and disappointing experience on Saturday, April 5th.

We left 30 minutes late because the guide wanted to wait for 1 person (who never showed up). The tour didn't go anywhere near the Cape Henry Lighthouses and basically just hugged the shore for a very short distance (between two sets of pilings) - most of the time we were just floating. We saw zero dolphins, lots of cormorants (hanging out on the pilings), a few pelicans, and a couple of osprey. Because the guide was concerned about the wind and currents (which didn't seem that bad), we hugged the shore even closer on the return trip and arrived 20 minutes early. So, what was supposed to be a 2 hour kayak trip "along the coast to the Cape Henry Lighthouses," was actually only about 1 hour and 10 minutes on the water and we didn't see anything we couldn't have seen just as well from the beach.

On the positive side, the equipment was great, the guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and it was nice to be kayaking on the Chesapeake Bay on a warm and sunny spring day.
