What You Will Do

Tucked neatly in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range is a Bavarian oasis. Central Washington is a geological wonder where old-growth forests meet high-desert landscapes carved from the ice ages. And in the centre of it, all is the small town of Leavenworth. Here, German influence reigns supreme, with classic Bavarian architecture, wonderful gift shops, and authentic German pubs and eateries to sample.

On your private day trip, you will:

  • Meet your guide at your Seattle hotel to start your tour in a private vehicle;
  • Drive east, with a 2-hour excursion through the gorgeous Cascade Mountains and National Forest, passing through lush forests, sparkling lakes, and breathtaking mountain vistas;
  • Arrive at the Bavarian town of Leavenworth and be greeted by picturesque alpine architecture, complete with timbered facades, cobblestone streets, and colourful flower boxes;
  • Learn the history of how Leavenworth came to be;
  • Pass by the Nutcracker Museum, which features over 7,000 nutcrackers from around the world, including antique designs, unique art pieces, and functional tools;
  • Shop at a year-round Christmas store for the perfect gift, and visit local markets for tastings of local fare and produce;
  • Visit the famous Leavenworth Brewery, where you can sample locally brewed beers and enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional German cuisines such as bratwurst, sauerkraut, and schnitzel;
  • Take a stroll down Waterfront Park, a scenic spot along the Wenatchee River, where you can relax and take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

This charming town is located in the heart of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State and was developed in Bavarian-themed architecture that has made it a popular destination for people from all over the world.

From the moment you arrive, you'll be transported to another world, complete with Alpine-style buildings, traditional German cuisine, and its lively downtown area, which is filled with quaint shops, art galleries, and restaurants.

You will have the opportunity to sample delicious German sausages, pretzels, and beer, or shop for unique souvenirs at the year-round Christmas store.
