What You Will Do
Discover Newtown in the best way possible, by combining street art and multicultural food!
Newtown is a truly diverse neighbourhood, and with us, you’re going to see and taste a bit of everything. You’ll start at the iconic "I Have A Dream" mural on King St, where your host will give you a run-down on Newtown’s food and street art scene.
You’ll then set off to sample Newtown’s multicultural cuisine, with food at 4 different restaurants included. Cuisine options include Egyptian, Turkish, Mexican, “Australian” and more. Vegetarian, vegan or other dietary requirements? We got you - just let us know!
Along the way, you'll be introduced to the neighbourhood’s best street art and some of Australia's most famous street artists, as well as their signature styles.
You’ll finish at a popular brewery for a shared tasting paddle of craft beers, plus a take-home guide to our favourite recommendations.
Note: This is not a "heavy" food tour - it is a food plus street art tour designed for all.

Great tour

Daniel was a brilliant guide. He was very engaging and knowledgeable. We are not especially art lovers but wanted to try something different - Daniel was very enthusiastic and made it very interesting for us. The snack and drink stops were very good too. Daniel went above and beyond at the end of the tour and escorted us to the bus stop, advised us what bus we needed to get, how long it would be and also when to get off which was very much appreciated. Thank you
see the sights, beauty, grit and character of Newtown

The street art and food tour of Newtown was a great way to see the sights, beauty, grit and character of this vibrant, busy area just out of Sydney CBD. Justin was the leader of our student group and showed a passion for the city and great knowledge of the cultures influencing food trends in the area. It was also inspiring and uplifting to hear stories about the artists and the meaning and intentions in their work, often layered in hidden details and intricate messages. A great way to see the artistic and cultural influences of today's modern world.
Must do in Sydney! ❤️ Local Sauce tours

FANTASTIC tour led by Melinda. I loved exploring Newtown, a district in Sydney that many visitors unfortunately might miss - the area is evocative of Brooklyn or Stoke Newington, for example, and Melinda expertly guided us to delicious (!) local eateries and the nuances of street art. Newtown is full of cool small shops including vintage and much more. See the real Sydney with Local Sauce tours - do not miss these experiences!
