Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast

Damien was friendly and knowledgeable. Kept everyone safe and helped my wife get her first wave. Would recommend to all beginners.

Absolutely phenomenal experience! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our surfing lesson. Remarkably, she was able to stand up on the board not once, but twice! Damien, our instructor, was not only affable but also impressively well-versed in the art of surfing. He provided clear and precise instructions that made the entire process feel intuitive. To top it all off, the weather was absolutely perfect! Enhancing our time on the waves. Highly recommended!

It was a pleasure to participate in surf lesson in Go ride a wave! Our instructor, Dennis was really focused on teaching us all basics we needed to catch waves and stand up! So we did! All in our group (6 of us) managed that! Thank U Dennis - Monika&Krzysztof :)

We had our lesson with Damian and had a super time learning to catch a wave! He was clear in his instructions and helped us all to get comfortable with water. Had a great time and one of the best experiences in Gold Coast. 100% recommended

This course turned out to be a disappointment. There were 2 coaches for 14 participants, so we expected to be 1 on 7 coaching, which should be quite ok. However, the coaches had put rather much of their attention on only the younger participants. One of the coaches had basically been 1on1 most of the time with one of the kids. It is proper to take care of the younger ones, however, the proportion of time spent on the other students turned out to be really little, which was rather unfair.

Apart from 2 rounds of group coaching, my partner and myself had been mostly surfing on our own, especially my partner had received less than a minute of coaching throughout the session. We definitely expected more coaching from this class given its much higher price than renting a board (and watching some standardized instruction videos on YouTube,  which was essentially the experience we had). It would be fairer if the coaches could have spent about equal time on each participant. It might also be better to separate the adult's and kid's classes.

We emailed the company for this feedback but never got a response unfortunately.

Dennis was an amazing instructor, he explained everything perfectly and also made sure we all knew about safety and precautions. He spread himself out to give each and everyone of us some personalized training and as a result all of us were able to catch our wave!

The surf lesson was one of the best things about our holiday, great as a family activity and our instructor Jason had us all standing on our boards by the end of our first lesson. Jason really looked after our 10yo daughter too who was a bit unsure, but she enjoyed herself thanks to Jason!

My 3 teenagers had an awesome morning learning how to surf at Broadbeach. The session was fun, engaging and very practical. The instructors, Damo and Taj were excellent in giving my children the confidence to learn to surf. I would highly recommend.

Excellent fun experience. I did this in January 2023, having never surfed before, and I was standing up within the lesson. A great thrill. My teens loved it too. The instructor Damian was great - highly recommend.

Booked two hour lesson for our two young granddaughters. Instructors, Jason and Damian, were terrific!

Great instructors and a really fun session, spent a good amount of time on technical stuff and in the water, had a lot of fun and got a lot better!

Jason was a great and really encouraging instructor. By the end of the two hours the kids had both managed to get the basics and up on their boards. They had great fun.
