The mountainous landscape not only provides a profound visual but also a considerable impact on Bogota’s weather. La Chorrera Waterfall Hike
2019-08-06
The tour to the waterfall was great. My sister and I wanted to do something a little more adventurous than just sight seeing around Bogota. The hike was definitely a challenge at first but once we mustered up our energy we were able to make it through. The scenery was beautiful and to see the farmers care for their livestock and crops was great. Our tour guide was Andrea. She is a wonderful person who made us feel like we went to the hike tour with a supportive friend. This tour is a must if you can physically handle the mountain area.

The hike itself is not that challenging if you are fit, are acclimatised to the altitude and have appropriate footwear, which means you can focus on enjoying the beautiful views, meeting the friendly trail dog and taking in all the flora and fauna. It was also nice to meet some of the young locals who help maintain the trail as part of their community, some of whom have positively transformed their lives as part of this social project.
This was one of the highlights of my trip to Bogota and I highly recommend it for those who love getting outdoors and seeing a view of Bogota that not many tourists see.
