Medellín Bike Tour

Orion was a great guide. I was a little nervous about biking in Medellin, but almost all of the routes were in protected bike lanes. I’m a pretty fit person and I wasn’t tired during the tour nor sore the next day, very doable for most people if you’re unsure.

What a great day out! Alejandro picked us up from Los Patios hotel and we took a short ride to where the flower show bicycle competition was taking and then joined in with the 10km circular route around Medellin. We definitely lucked out with the timing as this flower festival ride only happens once a year! It was amazing to see all the different outfits and groups in fancy dress!

Alejandro was very friendly and always made sure none of us got lost in the crowds and made sure everyone was comfortable with the speed (which was a very casual and relaxed pace so it was suitable to all abilities). His English was great and was happy to chat about anything we fancied asking. We really appreciated that with this being a one-off event he was happy to stick with us for just over 5 hours which is longer than the normal tours and especially considering he has exams next week, what a great guy!

The bikes we used were mountain bikes and helmets were provided, both of which were of a good standard and the bikes were enjoyable to use.
