5 Island and Town Hopping Tour with Lunch

Traveling by the local jetboat on the mighty Essequibo River visiting five different island locations was a real highlight of this trip. The opportunity to play in the falls was also very exciting and a welcome respite from the heat of the day. Our guide Jamal was truly knowledgable and entertaining. He gets five stars! Thanks for a lovely tour.

The trip was great!!. Our tour guide Mr Norton was awesome!!! He did well. !!!! He ensured that he stopped at the various landmarks along our journey like The Eddie Grant Island, The Mazaruni Prison and give us information about the landmarks. This is a trip to be on with your family and friends.

Had such a fun time exploring the islands! I did not feel rushed at any of the locations and we had some extra time relaxing in the waterfall. JT was incredible!

Overall the trip was good, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, however, when we got to the falls which was the last leg and the highlight of the trip I was extremely disappointed. The falls was beautiful, but right next to it was literally a garbage dump, used pampers, discarded plates cups and every other possible item that would be found in the garbage was there. This spoiled the whole experience for myself, and a few others who immediately walked back to the dock and waited for the boat. It looks like several tourist group take tourists to this location, why not collaborate with each other and pay to have the area around the falls cleaned, and sanitized. After leaving I felt like taking a shower, it was revolting.

I absolutely enjoyed learning about Guyana’s history and seeing the amazing Essequibo islands. JT the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend doing this tour if you want to learn history and love adventure.

Great choice for seeing parts of Guyana that’s not easily accessible. The choice of Islands offered a unique look at Guyanese early history.

This trip is for anyone who wants to explore Guyana. I was deter by others about traveling via the speed boat and I could see why. Going was very smooth, but coming back the water was very choppy. If you are pregnant this is not for you. The tour guide Jamal was very informative, friendly and approachable. I would give him a 10/10. If I had to make a suggestion lunch was not the best at Aruwai Resort, food was very salty and the fish was filled with barbecued sauce yuck. If I would have to make a suggestion would be the lack of drinks provided on the tour and snacks. Water and plantain chips is not enough for a tour which starts at 6:15am-7:00pm. Pastries can be a better option with a much better variety of drinks. At the resort you got the smallest bottle of drink. No fresh juice. All in all it was a great tour. Would definitely recommend (make sure you walk with your snacks, gravol) and come again.

Loved visiting the waterfall and learning about Guyana's history. Guides were great and informative.

Enjoyed an awesome day with Jamal, our tour guide. He is knowledgeable and entertaining. We sailed up and down the Essequibo river with several stops on the way. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at Aruwai respite. Best stop was at Baracara falls.

I enjoyed the experience. Great to get all the history and sights on the Essequibo. Couple islands were rushed, but overall a great time.

The trip was well coordinated and was on schedule. The tour guide Dave was very knowledgeable. My favorite part was the Dutch museum. I've learned quite a bit of the history about my hometown New Amsterdam. It was a relaxing day away from the city and would recommend this excellent experience.

The overall excursion trip was amazing! David did an excellent job with the history and facts of each stop location also answering questions. He was very personable and Nice to everyone. My husband & I asked to be dropped off near our hotel and David make that accommodation for us.

An excellent day trip. Lots to see and learn. Jamal our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Fort Island really showed the brutal side of slavery in Guyana. Baracara falls provided much relief from the heat. If you visit Guyana it's a tour you should consider!
